I think they are holding back info for the book.
I know it's what many were thinking but does this confirm N7 as the BIG ONE in terms of info and sort of dash all hopes for late summer/early autumn convention info?
Not really. He said we wouldn't get much more information before N7 day. Not that we would get any more on or after.
Which day is N7 day? I can't keep up with all these new dates people keep inventing.
While as probably this site's biggest Josephine fan that was torture, the rest of the DAI marketing was exponentially better. I'd take what they did in DAI over what they are doing now any day.
I can understand some people preferring the long, trickle-feed approach, and there is fun to be had there. But I tend to look at DAI as a cautionary tale of what happens when you show off a game too early. They got people hyped over a number of features that didn't make it into the final game and the inevitable fallout that came from that. So there was that cloud over the launch. And you can argue whether or not we got too much information before release but I'd prefer a little more mystery - including not revealing some of the companions.
The one thing I really didn't like was when the Devs streamed the beginning of the game before release. And, of course, it got plastered all over the web. IMO, there are 2 things you should never spoil - the ending and the beginning of a game.

November 7th.

November 7th if I recall correctly

Sound like a bit more than just polishing then

The book will be publish in August. I suppose the big mistery (when we go to Andromeda? why? who?) will be resolve in the book and then in N7 the hype train will start again
Ashley's designers wear in ME3 has a label that reads "S1" on it. Can we just get S1-day already? (September 1st) I can't wait until November for a less than Media Blowout for Andromeda. When are they gonna properly reveal this game if it releases in march next year if not before November?
Stupid move from them
They apparently live in a world where books are still popular and are NOT one of the worlds fastest shrinking markets.

Hm. Does "making ME:A great" and releasing some general news about the game have to be mutally exclusive?
apparently =|
you know. i'm pretty happy that things happened the way they did. also my experience with ME3 and DA:I has made me learn alot where Bioware/EA games are concerned.
I managed to purchase DA:I in December 2014 in preparation for my holiday gaming. However it was a week until I actually got into the game, and i couldnt believe the amount of bugs it had. Ofc, the refund period had expired.
fast forward december 2015 when i decided to take another turn into the game. managed to play it and enjoyed it for a while. didnt finish it though.
will look to my library or other games, before i ever look to get a copy of ME:A.

While there were features that didn't make it in the game shown, there were also features that were. That gave the potential players a feel of the game, which is infinitely better than just showing pretty pictures once every six months until release.
I want to know all about my character and those close to them. And the premise for the specific plot. And the feel and atmosphere of the game in general. DAI provided that. MEA has not. I don't want too many mysteries about the game. I don't have the money situation for that kind of leap of faith.
The devs streaming that was one of the best things of the entire marketing campaign for me.
I disagree. I get not spoiling the end, but the player should absolutely have the option to know the beginning.
Some amazing #MassEffectAndromeda #cosplay from @User! #MassEffect

Impressive! Also: holy crap that was fast! #MassEffectAndromeda
Geez you cosplayers. I guess we can't change them now, hey? ![]()

Yes. Everyone knows writers and level designers also have to cut trailers and send screens to press.

Agree on all points. By the time DA:I released I didn't feel like there was much mystery left. There was a lot of "Oh, I guess this is where _____ happens."
I also was disappointed they streamed the beginning. I hope they don't repeat that with future games.
N7 Day this year is on a Monday...
Guess i'll be picking that day for a day off...

You apparently are so desperate for information about this game that you'll badmouth anything you perceive as an obstacle to getting it.
User
will we hear anymore news about andromeda before N7 day?
Not really. I'd rather we focus on making MEA great... before we get talking about how great it will one day be.
Wow this was the most epicly honest comment ever. I appreciate it Mac Walters. Sometimes truth is a pain, but it free ourselves from the anxiety and tension.

And that's fair wanting to know as much as you can before taking the jump. Holding off until the game is released would be your best bet then. If you want to know how the beginning plays out, there'll be streams running the second the game drops. I have a feeling though, once the MEA marketing does ramp up in earnest, you'll know enough to see if it's for you (or not).
Regarding the books, by perchance anyone knows if there are going to be digital editions?

There were on the most recent ones so I don't see why there wouldn't be. It seems pretty standard these days, if anything you would question whether there is going to be printed editions.
