This past weekend, information came out regarding our new series of Mass Effect novels from Titan Books. These novels will give us the opportunity to expand the Mass Effect universe and bring new stories to life outside of the games.

 

Unfortunately, it’s still too early to go into more detail about the books or when they will be released. But don’t worry, we’ll have a proper announcement with all the juicy details at a later date.

 

We are still in the midst of the creative process, but we are working with a talented group of writers to bring these exciting new stories to our fans.

This past weekend, information came out regarding our new series of Mass Effect novels from Titan Books. These novels will give us the opportunity to expand the Mass Effect universe and bring new stories to life outside of the games.

 

Unfortunately, it’s still too early to go into more detail about the books or when they will be released. But don’t worry, we’ll have a proper announcement with all the juicy details at a later date.

 

We are still in the midst of the creative process, but we are working with a talented group of writers to bring these exciting new stories to our fans.

The books gave me hope and now not so much. I don't read novels much but sounds like a delay to me. I mean I'm aware of a new Game of Thrones book hasn't been released in years and the TV series catching up. But is this common?

A ten+ month cycle between script submission and actual book publishing is not unusual. Baen.com has a shorter cycle but that's Baen. Reasons range from poor script editing by people unfamiliar with the author's works that can lead to a longer "polishing time" (deliberate use, here), to publishing conflicts.

 

I would not read any doomsday scenario if the published dates are not met.

The information we had was from catalogues they give out to foreign publishers, hoping they will buy translation and localization rights. All the information in there (most likely the cover as well) is there as an indication of what could be eventually. They're not ment for consumers, which is quite a difference. So they never promised consumers the books would arrive at the mentioned dates, they were giving potential other publishers an indication.
