This is just silly. Unless turkey baster technology has been somehow lost, homosexuality is no barrier to reproduction.

Not sure what this has to do with reproduction. It was about LI/species-distrubution under the squad mates. If there are 7 in the squad then I assume it will be hard to fit all LI-types and species in those 7 members.

perhaps we will have 2 3 news races but not 10 .

I agree with this. If we make two fairly likely assumptions (1. There are no Mass Relays in Andromeda; and 2. The rumors that we are limited to one part of the Andromeda Galaxy - the Helios Cluster - are accurate) then it would be logical for that area of the Galaxy to have fewer sapient space fairing species than are present in the Milky Way Galaxy during the ME Trilogy.

That's assuming all LI will be in the team, which I doubt it'll happen. ME2, ME3, and DAI all have non-squadmates LI, and in the last game the advisors were as important as the squadmates.
In my opinion they'll go with the 2/2/2 LI approach (which was the original one in DAI), with at least two LI outside the squad.

I'm not sure about the 2/2/2 LI approach (it's commonly assumed, though), but I too think it is unlikely all LIs will be found in the squad. I also think or hope that not all the (main) MW-species will be in the squad, to make room for the Andromeda species.

If the ark theory is correct, then there shouldnt' be any homossexual characters in it because, well, it's an ark.  It should contain specimens capable of reproducing themselves for the sake of the continuations of civilization.

You are looking at ONE section of Andromeda containing 500,000,000,000 stars. Each sector contains +125,000,000,000.

The above proves what I said before. The story material that can be milked in Andromeda is HUGE. But, it's all predicated to a solid and non restrictive game ending. That is, stick to the individual clusters for story material.

Our MW galaxy is equally massive. Unfortunately, the writers had no clue to its Giaganticus size and screwed any future MW stories with that ludicrous galactic map that failed to convey the billions of stars in each sector and that  moronic Reaper apocalyptic ending.

Ok, I said my piece.

But i'm sure Bioware will have some homosexual Andromedans for us to explore.
Unless we find that there's a copy of each milky way's races in andromeda. that would be....weird

If the intent is to maximise reproductive capability, then really its the men who should be left behind. Their... part of the reproductive process can simply be transported along frozen for later use.

Though I'm not sure you want to encourage fast population growth. Children are a strain on scarce resources. You might actually wish to discourage reproduction in the early years of settlement.

As I posited in another thread, if the intent of the expedition is maximum reproductive efficiency, then you either dump the men, or just dump people entirely and send along a bunch of prepackaged genetic material to be incubated in artificial wombs, with either a small support staff or an EDI-style AI with a bunch of robotic avatars to provide care and protection.

Thankfully, it appears that 'maximum reproductive efficiency' is not the overriding goal of the expedition, so we'll probably end up with roughly the same population distribution as each species had in the Milky Way.
