Last time I checked, N7 day is about N7 not about ME. I expect nothing.
At this point, I'd be happy with any concrete information, just so I can give myself a hype headache.
Really, even if they do release information, I'll consume it, wonder about it. speculate, form an opinion....(that's the fun part of waiting!)
But the minute the game gets into my sweaty palms, all that will go out the window (for me) and I'll approach the game clean-slate first play through, after that, I'll reconsume every little bit of information, every fan speculation and playthrough/decision tree....to have outcome targeted playthroughs.

It'd be great if they announced backwards compatibility for N7 day as of N7 day. Greater if the announcement and compatibility came sooner though. I completely understand why Bioware is so tight lipped about info on the new game, given how far their forum has fallen (read: invaded by falsely entitled whiny assed idiots that only post to ****** about games that most people that play them greatly enjoy). Still I'd love to play through the new games on the current console hardware.
Besides, with how much fun the multi-player is, releasing the sequels on the current hardware would be an excellent and probably contagious primer for the next installment until it's released.
Yeah, to be honest I was surprised they didn't announce backwards compatibility for Mass Effect 2 and 3 at EA Play, considering how high on the fan wish list they are, Microsoft solving the multiple disc issue, and Mass Effect 1 being used to showcase it last year. Having the Shepard Trilogy available to new consoles would have brought in new fans and got old fans back into the hype by playing them.

I was like "Noooooooooooo !!!!" 
And woke up.

They might not, but it wouldn't be surprising if the game was delayed until November 2017. The only thing I feel somewhat confident in with the release date is that it'll be during 2017.
Andromeda is facing a troubled development. I still believe it will be released within a year, but depending of what they feel confident to show until this end of the year, I might find myself hoping it doesn't come out in 2017 at all.

More like a reasonable deduction from what we've seen so far. Bioware fear of showing gameplay is clear, and that is never a good sign. And remember, a ex-ME developer also had this idea (that Andromeda is facing trouble). So that is more than possible.

Just so everyone's aware, Billy and Blar touched on this last month on their ProducerHax podcast. They said not to worry, there aren't any problems going on in MEA's development, and there is a plan / reason why they're holding off showing too much now.

I'm thinking it's that crossed with the desire to do a giant infodump on N7 day, completely dominating the news cycle while nothing much else is going on.
