I can't help but laugh at all these BW Zealots blaming their fellow forum members for the forum closure.  It's pretty hilarious.

 

Vile, toxic, hatred... these words keep getting thrown around a VIDEO GAME FORUM.  Where the main thread is for Twitter updates... and 3/4 of the threads are about what clothes characters will wear, their hair quality, and how they'll be 'romanced'.  Holy hell, it'd be funny if it wasn't so sad.  

 

You might as well cover your ears and yell 'They don't like my favorite video game! They're vile, toxic, hate filled bigots!!  Shut it down!'.  Start running around in circles while you're at it.  Maybe invest in some sound-proof earmuffs, so you're hands will be free to wave erratically above your heads.

 

Oh, the drama!  Sip your kook-aid, find your safe-space, and calm down. LOL.

I suppose somewhere in that haze you meant me. Don't know what a kook-aid or a safe-space is, must be one those empty internet buzzwords from people who think themselves politically and culturally enlightened throws at others. Your comment doesn't exactly help any argument on why this place should be maintained.

Of course such things isn't okay. But again, why not just punish those individuals rather than everyone here, most of whom have done nothing close to those kinds of things? Punishing all for the actions of a few is completely unacceptable as well. 

Why punish the offenders when you can use them for personal gain? People love to get death threats now, because they can complain about them on Twitter and get whatever they want.   

 

And lets be real here, the number of forum members that were harassing BioWare devs was probably less than 50...out of hundreds of thousands of members, for a game that sold millions of copies. When your customer base is that large, you're going to run into a few bored children with poor parents.

Because tbh idk how much the new boards can "hold".

The import isn't guaranteed to work yet, but they are working very hard to even try. I've seen talk of a few others that are trying to attempt some archiving too and I think are communicating about what they're saving. I don't know. I really hope the importing works because that's probably the best thing that could happen for us. *knocks on wood* I just joined fextralife, since we need to be members before the (potential) import begins. It seems like a good place, so I'm giving it a try. As I am with others.

 

Some of the new sites seem decent enough, but, yeah, they're new. Members that are more familiar with/like each other are likely going to stick together, so goes the fracturing. As a bit of a newb I feel like a small fry being tossed into the big kid pools.

 

Even if people mostly end up separated I think it would be a good idea for these sites to somehow stay connected with each other. We'll be on different vessels, but at least we'd still be within reach.
