All the "tweet ninjas" are there, and a few devs have stumbled in from time to time. It's the most likely to succeed.

Were they actually devs? It'd be weird that devs who no longer post here would post on other forums.

yep, I've seen at least 7 devs settle in, not all posted, but they're there. Chatted with a couple. They're being 'protected'.
The forum's twitter account was the immediate lure ironically .
They're being 'protected'.
In what sense?

It's more like, "Hey I'm a member here and I just wanted to clarify some things" rather than, "I'm a developer and I wanna lay down the law." Which I completely get. If you take a look at the shutdown notice and click on "Show me BioWare posts" you'll see it.
Jos and Barrett have made appearances
Ian too. He even offered up a little tiny ittty bitty bit of general DA development details.

If MMOs are cash cows, I suspect that ME:A multiplayer is also designed to be one. If, successful, maybe there will be a ME:A forum
Part of their justification for shutting down the BSN was that fans can have discussions about huge multiplayer games without needing an actual forum to do it on. ME:A's MP mode doesn't necessarily need a forum like this to become huge.
I mean, look at Destiny on Reddit - it has guides, wikis, and a huge base of players who share tips/speculation/etc about all the MMO and multiplayer content.
I still think it's a stupid idea to take away a dedicated forum, particularly since there are heaps of discussions that Reddit doesn't really let people have (threads vanish from the front page after a day or two), but it's definitely able to sustain massive gaming fan communities.
In what sense?
'protected' in the sense that the devs will run away if they get hog-piled and hassled whenever they share a personal view.
They are not personally BioWare and don't need to answer for the whole company or the entire game.
So the moderators are going to keep a special eye out whenever devs are 'above ground'...

It's nice thought that everyone here is usually pretty informed, vs other places "oh hey I just beat the first game, here's my thoughts" and "oh hey did you guys know that Fiona is Alistair's mom? *gasp*"
I love I head here after the Bsn.boards.net twitter thread now.
This one is practically dead now.
We should use it as a promotional tool.
Ehhh, hate to sound like a Monty Python sketch, but it ain't dead yet. Wait 'till it really dies, and then watch that other site start limping along. It's gonna be a test to see if we can keep it up and running. I'm making it sound like I have some big important job over there.
There's a way to save the history of the Twitter thread on Fexelea's Bioware forums. The same goes for the post history of BSN forum members. If your interested then have a look at:
Claim your account and save your post history.

wow even Forbes picked up the story about the forums closing http://www.forbes.co...a/#234399b83019
we did it reddit ![]()
As the new BSN Forum is pretty well established now, I'm officially "moving over" to their new Twitter Threads and will only update in these threads if there's an important tease or scoop.
The New BSN Forum: http://bsn.boards.net/
The New Dragon Age Twitter Thread: http://bsn.boards.ne...scussion-thread
The New Mass Effect Twitter Thread: http://bsn.boards.ne...scussion-thread
The New Secret IP Twitter Thread: http://bsn.boards.ne...ter-info-thread
That said, please keep on updating this thread if you prefer to remain here for the last few weeks! ![]()
Cheers!
Holy beans, BioWare. I leave the forum for just a few weeks, and then this happens?
first you stall us for months and years with irrelevant, meaningless tidbits, after promising us groundbreaking revelations for E3 and other conventions and now you close down the forum just like that? and you even have the chutzpah to throw such marketing hogwash in the face of your most loyal fans?
@egnite987 As we use other sites more and more, it became a disservice to people who used our forums. It was a hard decision.
You think sugercoating that BS with nonsense like that will change anything?
And you couldn't even afford to send out a notification email, no?
every goddamn game company on this planet runs a forum for their fans, but the company that prides itself for being oh so much in touch with it's fanbase decides it would be a good idea to shut down their forum? And the best alternative you can offer, is that cesspool of verbal diarrhea that is twitter or reddit? yeah, no thanks!
What a huge dick-move, BioWare.
P.S.: it's outright hilarious, that the same forum members who claim negativity on BSN is the reason for the shutdown also advise migrating to twitter or reddit. You guys must be new to the internet, and especially to twitter/reddit. I mean twitter is by far the most hate- and spiteful place on this messed-up blue ball we call earth and hardly a day goes by without another semi-famous twitter celebrity deleting their account thanks to social-media-induced, near-suicidal depression...
I don't know WTF happened, but there was another BSN forum I was apart of. Log in "uBSN closing"... I'll be honest, I've defended Bioware, but now... just shoot yourselves Bioware staff...

That one wasn't run by BioWare, but rather a fan from here. BioWare had nothing to do with that one having problems.
