Yes, joke. He meant, like everyone, his growing list of unplayed Steam game library (and probably stacks of unopened console games too, I know I have a ton of those as well).

Barrett openly dared you to reveal that big thing you're currently working on for the next Mass Effect. He said you were a total wuss, but if you proved him wrong he'd make you dinner every day for a whole week
But apart from that, not much. Hope you had a great time in the States
I suspect you are lies.

Schedule varies highly depending on the state of a project, but there still exists crunch mode from time to time.

Maybe Jos (or someone else) can tell us if blowing up the Normandy and killing Shepard was done just so we could get a new ship, a new face, and a new class?
From a game standpoint, I know that ME2's opening was built to grab your attention. We wanted people playing to be immediately engaged with what is going on, and wanting to see what's next. It pulls more people through more of the game that way.
lol. Reads as an 'oh *****, the feminists!!'
I identify as a feminist, so not really. I did want to clarify that it wasn't a blanket statement that ignored female representation in our industry. ![]()

Okay... I know this is going to be a can-of-worms question Jos, but what are you thoughts on Anita Sarkessian's videos?
You know, I think I'll take questions for me specifically away from the BioWare forums. I signed up at ask.fm (ask.fm/joshendriks) if you want to ask me anything there. I'm not going to distract from the games here. ![]()

Can't be a real name, do BioWare only hire people with awesome names?
Yea, we only hire people either with awesome names, or with the same name as existing employees. Case in point: ME2 QA had 3 Barretts (though the other two were last-name Barretts). We had a Garrett too.

Yeah I think it's old, but not sure. I took a stroll around the studio and didn't see it pinned up anywhere, but we don't put everything up. You guys might be able to trawl through the art books and such to confirm.
Also, MY NERVOUS FACE AND VOICE. Surprisingly I didn't hate how I sounded/looked there. Props to Conal!

Mass Effect 3 released in March 2012. It's now October 2014.
That's two and a half years, which is already longer than the time between ME-ME2 and ME2-ME3, not to mention Dragon Age: Origins and DA2. Inquisition will take three and a half years, but that was delayed by a year.
So ME: Next already has a long development time, by recent standards - and it might not come out until next year or even later.
And let us not forget about the full year's worth of DLC that came after ME3 released.

Space is very large you know. It's like saying naval combat game will take place on water. Could you at least specify which water you refer to? Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, all have many different meanings for us poor fans. Is it in the same ocean as the original trilogy or have you guys moved an entire ocean away?
(And no, saying it's in a specific part of space does not count)
You're no fun.

Yes, there will definitely be stars and space in the game!

Stop the tease. Really.
Two years and a half later of the release of ME3 i'm personally tired of those "oh yes, the game is set on space" "sure, the game will have enemies" "I have never seen salarians look so good". Really, if you have something important to tell to us, say it. If you otherwise don't, I don't want to know how great salarians look, I don't care. I want to know timelines, main character, type of enemies, story, etc. If saying that is out of the question either because you don't have it or because you can't say it, fine by me. Take your time, take two more years, three, five, ten, It doesn't matter as long as the product is good. But please, stop teasing us, at first I thought It was funny and that even motivated people into knowing that ME3 was being worked on, but nowdays and after some really unfortunate "twits" from some Bioware employees (doesn't anybody remember the "STOP CALLING IT MASS EFFECT 4!!!"? while we don't have ANY other alternative name) It's starting to sound rude (I have/know something YOU don't, screw you HAHAHAHAHA).
You could say "I can never keep everybody happy, If i tease some get angry, If I don't tease others get angry", and while this might be the case that is not an excuse for not being responsable while saying somethings in public. The perfect example is the stop calling it mass effect 4 tweet. I have seen some great tweets implying that the game is being worked on while don't having the need to tease anybody and much less appearing to be rude and disrespectful.
Damned if we do, damned if we don't. Some people like the teasing, some people don't. The game is being worked on. There will be substantive info when it's ready. I'd have far more fun telling you the things we're doing, but it is not up to me when information is shared. If you feel that any of my tweets or posts in here have been rude or disrespectful, I'm sorry. If anything, my tweets are mostly to share that the game is worked on and that I'd love giving you more information, but that I can't right now.

So, I've googled Mr. Hendriks and I'm shocked. I've discovered his terrible secret.
He seems to be one of them:
Spoiler
They have been trolling their eastern neighbors for decades. It's no surprise that Jos is an expert himself.
Neither terrible, nor secret. I wear my nationality with pride. Also the supposed trolling.
