Doubt it, ME2 didn't win at the vgas when it was nominated and the bsn considers that game to be the holy grail.

Eh hem, read what you guys posted when ME2 came out. Remeber the frothing, rabid hatred of ME2 and the complaints about teh RPG elements, the longing for ME1 styled gameplay? No? Ugh, trying to win a fight with BSN is... **** it, I should go.

Or simply this was the year for indie/arcade game to win. Arcade/indie/downloadable scene blew out in the past couple of years and broke into the 'mainstream' of gaming, about time it was recognized.

It does. I voted for ME3(best damn game I've ever played), but walking dead was my close second.

I'm happy that at least ME3 lost to another game that was well deserving. I'm not happy about Claptrap beating Shepard, I mean wtf?

I have never went back on my opinon on ME2. it's a known fact on the bsn I don't like ME2 and enjoyed ME and ME3 far more. I'm simply saying that ME3 having a good ending would have ment nothing when in the past ME series never won at the vgas.

Like Issac said, this year was the year of Indie games and it shows.

i didnt come to the forums when me2 was relesed wasnt planning on me3 till i seen the bullsh*t that was the ending and was trying to figure what i did wrong and seen that this was it ssssoooo

Nah, Walking Dead definitely deserved a goty, just not as much as Mass Effect 3. They don't really compare imo but I guess factoring things like budget, it's good to see Indie games triumphant. Still disappointed. Let's see how it goes in the other comps.

This. Seriously? Claptrap won over Commander Shepard? *sigh*

Guess it doesn't matter anymore, but I wonder if it would of made a difference if the vote for character of the year wasn't just held on the night of the awards but was accumulative like most of the other categories. I voted in all the other categories but had forgotten tonight was the VGA's, so didn't get a chance to vote for character of the year. So that happened in my case.

Oh well. Anyways, Congrats Bioware on winning RPG of the year

I definitely felt ME3 wasn't GOTY-worthy, but I'm not sure if TWD was, either... XD In any case, I think it was deserving of RPG of the year, so I'm happy about that.

But BOTH Shepard and MC losing out to Claptrap? What...the...hell... And Jen Hale not getting the award for best female? *Flips table* Lol

What? No, no, no... no.  Claptrap is one of the most annoying characters I have ever heard (though he was better in 2).  How on earth did he win?

I really expected Vaas to appear on here, though Far Cry 3 did release late.  If there is any justice, he will appear on the list next year.

Don't get me wrong The Walking Dead is awesome for what it is, but it just lacks scope, and wasn't as immersive for me. From my perspective, a slightly overrated game beat an underrated one. And yeah, the claptrap thing was weird...

I think the walking dead won because more people played it than they did ME3, and than more people who played it liked it than those who played Me3 and liked it.
