No, they also had comments during 3 main missions, in the same style squadmates comment during any other mission in the game

I think Snypy is referring to EDI and Vega being part of the Lab Investigation and scenes pertaining to them (those are more dialogue heavy compared to mission "banter").  No other squadmates appear in those instances.

Yeah, but all those comments were Zaeed-style lines. You couldn't really interact with your squadmates during the missions.

Yep.

I am not sure how they could incorporate Miranda into a DLC considering her story arc is closely tied toward the end of the game. Jack is probably the easiest one to incorporate.

Alright, well that's more than enough for it to qualify that they were "in the DLC".

I'd be 100% down with that

lol ok. Pretty much shows how great of a 'replacement' YT is.

It was a great replacement. It's just a long time since I watched it, so I didn't remember. Altough I can remember some of the talk now.

The DLC was good value for money compared to other DLC's, don't get me wrong.

You could, like when you're about to go into water and your squadmate/LI goes like "Shep I'm worried" and you can comfort them

Besides, Zaeed-style or no, the squad not being mute for a change is a badass improvement over previous DLC.

Most definitely. Mute Legion in Overlord was awful, mute Tali & Garrus in LOTSB weren't much better. If they're short on budget and can't have voiced squadmates in every DLC, then I absolutely prefer not having the squadmates available at all and having temprorary sqad instead like in Omega or Arrival.

No argument there. ;)

@IsaacShep: I guess you're right in this instance. I can't remember the scene so well anymore because I haven't played Leviathan since the end of September.

Indeed. Each one has more than 50 lines spread throughout the three missions (and on the ship afterward—thanks, Dusty!).

EDI does play tour guide, but it's not like that content is focused on her (and she has dramatically fewer lines on the missions themselves). And James' part in the lab isn't really that expansive.

You can argue for having different roles for them, but Leviathan unquestionably includes substantive interaction with the whole squad (a first for post-release ME DLC, and a must-have for any future DLC).

Main reason I ended up getting Leviathan.  And something the DA2 DLC did that was definitely worth copying ;)

Another thing worth copying from DA2's DLC is how each companion has a small quest related to them in Mark of the Assassin.

Probably not ME-related but posting anyway:

Jennifer Hale:
spoiler alert https://twitter.com/...8/photo/1/large

https://twitter.com/...238158083219458

Wonder what she's doing with a motion capture suit as a voice actress?

I do not think they have motion capture for ME, do they?

When they need new animations, they motion capture them. It's mentioned in this panel (somewhere).

Even if they needed new animations, why would they use her?

In fact, regardless of what she's voicing, why do they need her motions? :D

Because she's the one who provides the voice? Performance capture records both voice and movement at the same time, often providing much better results (when you voice-act while also acting out the movements, you have better/bigger context for your performance). They didn't do performance capture before, but maybe they're gonna try for this new DLC? Especially if it's the last one and the last time they work with Jen (and Mark).

Though this could just be for Halo 4 Spartan Ops, or some other project Jen's working on

Hale has done mo-cap before and according to a couple of her interviews she seems to enjoy it. It's just an extention of the way the game medium is growing and another way to act in the medium. While Hale is primarily known for her voice work, she has done lots of acting outside that area. I think this is new for her, but it's not a big deal that she's doing it.

I completely disagree with this.

It doesn't make sense that i builded so many relationships over 3 games, have a ship full squad mates and not a single one of them step on to help me do this thing.

Didn't i helped them before? Even save their lifes sometimes?

The team is short on money? Ok, pick 1 or 2 companions and make them relate somehow to the stories, or make something up about the others being doing some missions and that they are the only ones left. But don't send me again alone on some mission, or with mute companions.

from what i'm aware of it's rare that the voice actor/actress also does the mo cap stuff. I can only think of Uncharted off hand.   I have a feeling that this is something eles. This seems uncessary for bioware to do if this in fact Mass effect releated.
