Now, this is one for conspiracy buffs:

For new followers: a handful of my music can be had via Bandcamp: http://samhulick.bandcamp.com .

If you follow the link, you'll find a 4-track album and one single track called "Shepard's Return". The description says, it's been released on Feb 11th 2011, but still: Why advertise this now...? Coded message re DLC?

Well, I doubt it, but it's funny to regard it as a clue.

Regardless of purpose, either past or present, that's a pretty terrific track.

Feb 11th 2011 means it was released AFTER ME2. By a lot.
And that means it is either for ME3 or for DLC. It wasn't in Arrival. That means it is either for ME3 or it's DLCs.

No - he wrote that when he wasn't sure if he would be composing for ME3. Sam wasn't called onto the project until later in 2011. "Shepard's Return" was Sam's attempt at at ME3 track, given we'd just seen Shepard starring in some of the early Earth trailers (with London sniper guy).

It was intended as a fun track for fans, not a secret piece for a DLC more than two years away.

If you go back and check his Twitter feed at the time, this was in no way intended as something for actual use in the game. Reading too much into it is a recipe for disappointment.

Perhaps keep the conspiracy ideas to their respective threads/groups, eh?

You guys are looking into the "Shepard Returns" too much.

He could possibly be returning to some planet in the next DLC.

I did say "ok". As in ok, i didn't know that and was wrong. Do you want me to apologise to you? I am sorry leonia42, for my ignorant post. Do you want me to delete it? Sadly i can't.  Do you want to act as a tread police? Like "go back to your hole, silly people?"  well, that is just dumb. What was the point of your post again?

Shepard's Return was only an attempt at an ME3 track. I think it was one of Sam's very early pieces for ME3. Apparently the reason it never made it to the final game is because it couldn't fit anywhere.

They still haven't totally fixed that bug where Shep can get stuck on the Normandy bridge. EDI must have a very magnetic personality.... The main thing I hope they sort out is Omega....

Looking over Mike Gamble's Twitter.. he has been playing Far Cry 3 and the Walking Dead. He has been having bug issues with TWD however. Kinda cool to see Devs playing other people's games.

Drew Karpyshyn clears up a plot point of Mass Effect 1:

A fan asks: "wouldn't [Saren's] spectre status have granted him free access in the first place? Perhaps I'm overanalyzing."

Drew answers: "Imagine a Specter is like a top CIA agent. The agent can't go to the oval office and mess around with the President's desk, right? Saren needed the Geth to invade the Citadel so security doesn't take him out when he activates the conduit."

twitter.com/DrewKarpyshyn/status/290936436042108928

Edit: Cleaned it up a little.

By "conduit" I'm assuming he means "dark space relay" Since activating the Conduit would just have resulted in a very suprised hanar  preacher :D

That's cool, but I thought that was pretty clear anyway.

Has Drew's new book series come out yet?

I REALLY wish that Mac Walters would do the same.

I am curious in learning more of his reasoning in regards to ME3's writing.

That's a very flimsy reason. Seeing as though he's a respected Spectre he could probably just make up some sort of excuse and BAM, Reapers.
