Regardless, good to hear such things being said by bioware. Now I just hope the fanbase doesn't hype this up again and than blame bioware when things they never said would happen do not happen.

Nah, this is totally not happening.

We have never had such a thing ever occur.
lol.

Is this for a new dlc? or the "citadel" thing we've known about?

... or Casey's new IP. Or Montreal's ME game. Or something else entirely.

I REALLY wish that Mac Walters would do the same.

I am curious in learning more of his reasoning in regards to ME3's writing.

^ Yeah, only we each have a different definition of what awesome looks and sounds like... I'm sure Mac Walters and Casey Hudson think (thought) that the (original) ending is (was) awesome as well.

AWESOMENESS INCOMING (Hopefully)

As long as it's never another awesome button Posted Image I think we could handle "a laser guided missle of awesomeness."

is watamaniuk still writing for ME? might be obligatory squad banter. If we speculate on a march release of course.

To be fairly honest; without over analysing into lore, plot, or consistency... those parts were REALLY awesome xD

I see Chris is taking a cue from CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 trailer regarding when they will be talking about the next DLC.

Now only if you guys still made RPGs like they do.

Really? You really had to get a snide ****y comment in there so badly?

Do you feel better now that you got that out of your damn system? Yes? Good.

Because when it's ready is probably the best answer to the question "When will [blank] come out" that I could hope for. I don't care if CDPR did it first with their games, and I don't care if you like their games more, and I certainly do not care about rpg elements talk anymore. This dlc is not, at least hopefully, being rushed. And so it should be pretty good, or if you really didn't like the game it will be good or decent, or if you really hate everything in the game from start to finish, it will be pointless.

Regardless, good to hear such things being said by bioware. Now I just hope the fanbase doesn't hype this up again and than blame bioware when things they never said would happen do not happen.

It's also worth pointing out that this is the approach BioWare is taking with DA3.

So, no, this has nothing to do with CDPR. <_<

Postponing a release to move the game to the next-gen systems is not the same thing as not rushing development to meet a release date window.

Either way....

"When it is ready" is a fine way to approach it in my opinion.

Claiming crap you can't prove nor provide evidence for is not the same thing as giving a well thought out opinion or fact. ;)

Just because it's a negative jab at bioware, doesn't make it 1000% legit.

Chris Priestly:

"And Fall is a best guess at the moment. The game has been in the works since the end of DA2, and things are going well, but it will take as long as it needs to. Fall next year (sometime between Sept & Dec) is a good guess, but it could be longer if it needs it."

I'm actually glad it's coming out on the next gen, because that means they didn't try and rush the game to get it out on current gen, resulting in a weaker product.

I really hope BioWare are going to get back on their feet rep wise. It's inevitable that one day they *will* die. It happens to all companies that aren't Coca-Cola. But if they do, can they at least go out in a bang?

"As long as it needs to" should be the main focus point from now on; I hope EA can see that.

/optimistic side talking.

Sounds good to me, look at Skyrim and how it got rushed for the 11/11/11 release date.

Mass Effect 3 BIGGEST issue was rushing it.

The lack of development time led to a huge game decline from horizon and after. It was terrible and it was obvious that it was rushed.

So yes the when is done approach is best if it's to avoid another me3 fiasco.

I understand the need for deadlines but I and (I'm sure) many others wouldn't mind hearing about a delay to any game so that it isn't rushed into production. ME3 could have done well with a fall 2012 release just for the extra work to make it as good as possible.

ME3 was already delayed by five or six months - its original release date was late 2011. Geoff Keighley's Final Hours of ME3 piece says Casey argued for more development time because the game just wouldn't be ready and to the level of quality he wanted by the date they'd originally set.

More time is often a good thing but at some point the product needs to be released - particularly if it's going to affect things like revenue, quarterly profit, investor sentiment, whatever. Not to mention the effect on the team of people who are making it - it's not like they can crunch and work hugely long days forever.

ME3 would have been destroyed in sales.

He's not going to be working on 3 different DLC's simultaneously as thats just out & out counter productive.
