Well considering Hulik's music is intended to make us cry, I'd say to expect tragedy. Also, joking about the DLC, it's a horrible idea. I was just being silly.

Honestly, if this was related to the ending in anyway... I would cry out of joy, I mean it. I literally would... So no, "strings for tears" does not necessarily have to mean sad tears...

True, true. But given ME3's tragedy streak I'd say it's far more likely a sad cry.

I disagree, it's exactly because of this tragedy streak that there needs to be some happy tears.. If they just keep on piling on the tragic stuff, it'll turn into a very masochistic story.. And in turn, I wouldn't even play it. I cried a lot during the vanilla game alone.. [spoilers]. There needs to be some positivity in all this. And seriously, there's no climax in the ending to make up for all that hurt... That's why it lingers, there's no revenge feeling like "hell yeaaaa... Take that Reapers!"

Sam had a follow-up message that basically confirmed the tears would be for something sad or otherwise poignant.

No tears of joy, sorry.

haha, yea... So glad Priestly wasn't watching... I'm totes innocentPosted Image

Just not used to posting in no-spoilers section, that's why I usually avoid the forum lol. I love this thread too much though Posted Image

And yes, I'm doing a trilogy playthrough with Kaidan now... Still going to leave it waiting at the end of ME2 until this dlc gets released though so I know whether to continue playing. I hate this... Posted Image

I don't know, I cheer everytime I see the Reapers fall over dead when I choose Destory.  But that's me. Maybe it is a happy cry. Or it could be a cry for no reason, I cried during the ending cause of the music, even though the ending itself wasn't tragic (quality aside).

No, but you can search back. He said something to the effect, "Time for a new track; this one's going to be for something more upbeat".

The implication being the prior track (with the potential for tears) was indeed for something sad.

It's possible he was simply talking about the composition, but my brain tells me that he was talking about context. Since I can't remember the exact message, I can't say for sure.

It would be a shame to close this thread because people can't keep spoilers out of the No Spoilers forum.

That doesn't imply it is sad, that implies it is slow and moving. Slow and moving does not automatically mean sad....

You know, they could bring Bambi in the ME universe and kill it in a really cruel fashion. Wouldn't be more out of place than some of the things in this game.

I specifically called it out as "something to the effect" so that you would know I was paraphrasing, not quoting him directly.

I told you the implication of what he said. If you want to agree or disagree, you should do it on what he actually said, not on the words I used to convey the basic gist of his message as I remember it.

"BTW, I'm not saying the entire DLC soundtrack is feels-invoking. Just that one particular piece. The rest.. will be a mystery. ;) " That's all he said.

Even less suspect than what you posted.

Brov, I usually don't agree with you. But hot damn Max Payne 3's soundtrack is possibly one of the best game soundtrack's I've heard.

I was just imagining what a mix between Max Payne 3 and Mass Effect's futuristic, electronic, and grand score would sound like.

I know the game data suggests Citadel, but if the dlc follows the others, is it not possible to be both Earth based and Citadel. Being spread through game like Leviathan. Maybe a citadel mission then a new Earth based one which connects later in game?

We have absolutely no evidence that this DLC is related to Earth in any way, whatsoever. I don't know why people are speculating that it is. The game data in Leviathan mentioned a number of new Citadel locations, and we have literally no other information.

That one is amazing.

Also, this one:

Should we just turn this thread into a Max Payne 3 praise-thread until they release some more DLC info, or?

While the excitement level for new SP content is through the roof, the prospect of no more MP content makes me a sad panda. Also Bilbo gif is amazingly appropriate.

What makes you think that? Jos has been working on SP content lately as he already confirmed. Major part of MP development is done in Montreal, so there might very well be coming new MP stuff, especially considering that the "wrap up" for ME3 was only done in Edmonton. Even new SP stuff could be aling the way as Omega was mostly done in Montreal, too.

Yea, I love that one also, it shows that music can be somewhat soft and trancey whilst still being completely badarse...

I also love this one for the drums, this is more the combat music too...

edit: I have a little experiment for everyone, play the above soundtrack, and then straight after you hit play, play this soundtrack as well. They compliment each other amazingly imho.

"Twas a not so subtle attempt to get Jos to spill some beans related to MP but now he knows we're onto him.

Damn them! They're feeding my optimist side. Now I'm fairly sure it's DLC dealing with anything from Priority Earth onwards...

My realist side says it's something completely different. Not that anything like 'Palaven' dlc would be bad. Just not the kind of dlc I'm hoping for.
