You never know. It could be the greatest DLC ever made in a game.

I can't believe anyone actually thought we were going to get the teaser this week.

Eh, it's a forgivable misunderstanding on the BSN's part. Oftentimes if someone says, "Would you like a surprise?", they might already have one behind their back or waiting in the next room, almost ready to be given.

It's been said that the DLC won't touch the ending; it won't take place after the ending; it won't focus (too much) on any ME2 characters; it won't add another permanent squadmate; it won't expand on the stories about love interests who are already in ME3; it will be restricted by the 2 GB DLC limit because of Xbox 360.

This takes the argument that the following DLC could be the greatest one in the whole trilogy out of the equation for me.

The limit can be exceeded if Microsoft can be persuaded enough people will buy it. It's been done before with a popular XBLA game whos name escapes at the moment. I personally believe this DLC will in fact exceed 2GB, but it's quite a stretch, so we'll have to wait and see.

2GB is a lot of space its just that BioWare does not compress their DLC.

As it was proven to me, one of the latest Battlefield 3 DLCs exceeds 2GB limit. So it's definitely in EA's capability to 'convince' MS. They still own EA for leaking ME3 beta

I believe you mean Tomb Raider GoL. I've seen multiple DLCs that have exceeded 2GB as well.

Except they do.

Omega is around 6.5-7GB uncompressed, I can't get pictures as I do not own it, but people have proven it by datamining or examining it.

I can prove it regardless of Omega, as I have majority of the game's DLC, and I can confirm to you, that even MP is compressed.

(Wow our quotes are horribly messy)

Sure, I got Extended Cut, lets open 'er up.

As you can see, it is bigger than 2GB at 2.4 in its true uncompressed size.

To me it doesn't, cause I need none of those:

1, I like the ending as it is, I don't want it to be post-ending 'cause it would be stupid as hell (the reapers are defeated and Shep is dead in all endings but one).

2, I also think that the ME2 characters had enough screen-time in ME2 already and most of them were treated pretty decently in ME3 (ME2 was too soap opera-ish for my taste already with all those guys around with their daddy-issues, so I'm glad they made ME3 a bit more modest in that regard).

3, I don't need a new squad-member either (we have enough already and they are all great in their own right and have their shining moments in the story... and again: no soap opera, pls).

4, To me ME was never a love story (I never got those who consider it being one and are able to get so attached to a fictional character), so I don't really give a damn about LIs: the only one I kind of like and role play for the Shepard I play is Ashley (she's the closest thing to a perfect match for "my Shepard", but I have no wet fantasies about her, since I have my real life girl).

5, The 2 Gb limit is no problem either if they deliver quality: I don't need it to be long, I need it to be interesting, lore and story heavy, with exciting conversations, some new revelations, moral choices, spectacular places with soul and ambiance, some nice cutscenes and character moments with great music.

So to me it's not specific things that would make the "best" dlc for ME, but the overall feel, quality and story. For now my favourit ME dlc is Leviathan, because it delivered in all those dimensions. So of course I'm excited, cause I want some new addition to my favourit sci-fi game in order to make it even better, so I hope I will get that.

You know, there is a potential workaround to the 2gb DLC limit on 360.

Maybe they could split the content into two or more files that hook together once installed. Pay once, get a string of downloads.

Like I said, expressing an inquiry/interest like that sometimes indicates that they already have something ready. It's not unreasonable for folks to have gotten excited about it coming soon, but they shouldn't be disgruntled if it takes time.

I understand that you don't consider the stuff I mentioned earlier to be important to you. But many people actually care about it. And honestly, paying $15 for a three or four hour story which can't satisfy any of my basic requests seems too much.

That's totally understandable. My point was that "biggest dlc" or "best" or whatever could mean wildly different things to each person. So it could be a very good one even if it does not please those people who desire ME3 to be a completely different game because they obviously expected something else, so they are disappointed by it. The awful truth is that ME3 is way beyond "repair" to those who are looking forward to these things. It was way beyond repair when it was released. So you either take it or leave it (no dlc can change that at this point, and no dlc will).

To those who like ME3 as it is, with all its flaws, well it's all fine in this regard.
