I think you should forget about announcement as well as dlc for 4 weeks at least. Today other big titles are coming out, me3 cant compete with them.

They said it already: they will announce it mid-february, which means that they will release it sometime in March.

They're not generally allowed to take builds home, to the best of my knowledge - unless it's the director (e.g. Casey) or some such.futurepixels wrote...
Tomorrow? Can't bring it home?
I remember Casey once tweeted about playing an unfinished ME3 build at home.
Makes sense, because then the employee won't leave it at a bar in California and Gizmodo won't pay to play around with it.

Or April, depending on when it's actually finished and how long certification takes. We'll probably get more information on that in a couple of weeks.

It's a nice thought, but unfortunately the term 'build' is just a general term used for a version of the game or DLC which could be at any stage of development. Builds can also be sent to the 'secret' part of Xbox Live, that is used by developers. This allows "work in progress" builds of a game to be deployed to any Xbox with the required clearance, for testing or simply for evaluation purposes to see how development is progressing.MrDbow wrote...

Dayum!, can't be much longer now surely?...
That is the first time I have heard about using a "build" for a DLC. Using a system with a build gives me the impression that this may not be a typical DLC. That might be me hyping a bit...
Nonetheless, getting closer and closer...

Since everybody moved to other projects and only the QA department is working on (or was working on) the dlc, it is quite certain that it is almost finished. I don't think that certification would take more than a month.

Do you think we will ever see the devs playing the dlc's they made?, it would be intresting to see how they play there own games.
I remember seeing Mike Gamble playing a part of the Omega DLC.

You might see managers, artists or other staff playing the game, but you will unlikely see a programmer playing their own game outside of development. This is because they will be playing various aspects of the game, on and off, every day during development and testing. So, by the time the game is finished, they will have played the game more than anyone else ever will, ever, and generally can't face playing it again, even for fun. And so for this reason, you tend to find many programmers never actually playing the completed game they have worked on.Tali-vas-normandy wrote...

It's one of the downsides of working in the industry. So, for example, working for Bioware might sound like someones dream job, but you would lose the fun of playing their games if you are involved in their development.

I am pretty sure that BW is experienced enough to know how they quickly get DLCs and games certified.SimonTheFrog wrote...
Certification can easily take longer than a month, depending on whether the platform-holder is passing it quickly or not.

It will certanly not take them till April to release the DLC. That´s just too far away if you consider what they already teased over twitter.
They know Microsoft and Sony good enough and for those 2 ME3 is a big game nontheless so I assume that a certification wouldn´t take over 1 month !!

I'm guessing the DLC is mostly done, now they're giving the employees the chance to test it, that'll take at least a week or two, then they'll send it off for Certification and they'll officially unveil the DLC (mid-February), and they'll release a trailer a bit before the DLC launches (March).

I´d say that this is the most likely date and the safest bet to be honest.BladyMZ wrote...
Is it possible they are aiming for March 6, one year after ME3 launched?
They still have 1 month left for the whole certification **** and considering that the DLC is pretty much done and is now tested by a few employees means that they are aiming for a march release.
April makes no sense if you consider that they started teasing in late January and said that it is basically done. Why wait till April in that case? March is the best bet

Should I be worried? He doesn't sound very excited about this... no smiley faces or "na-na nana naaaaaaa's"....
It almost sounds like he'll be playing it as a chore for work so he can talk about it when it releases....

Probably a case of the right tone not coming through Internet communication. It sounds like something I'd nonchalantly say if I were excited about doing something.

I'm hearing the actor Robin Sachs, who voiced Zaeed, among other roles, has died. I'll miss him; He was an absolute pleasure to work with.

*sigh* It is like people are looking for an excuse to be worried. Certainly in this case, this is a pretty odd claim. Twitter is 144 characters. Hard to post info, a picture AND be excited in one post.
Yes, I am very excited to play the new DLC. Where'd I put that image of fireworks and a marching band?
