Did anyone anyone else notice that the name says "awakened collector" rather than "Collector thrall". Methinks this might be tiny Sp DLC spoiler.

Maybe now Javik will stop comitting suicide on me if he has a thrall-like friend.

The description of the Collector explains why it says "Awakened Collector". Highly doubt it's a Citadel spoiler.

From Mike Gamble, via Twitter:

"Oh, and the Citadel DLC will open up after the attempted coup on the Citadel. I would suggest completing the ME3 romances beforehand though."

Any guesses to what he means by "completing"? Would that be post-love scene prior to launching Priority: Earth, or some other time?

The romance lock. A romance lock can only happen after the coup.

No, it would be when you lock in your romance (you can only have one romance in the game, and it gets locked in sometime after the coup).

I wonder what happens if you don't lock in your romance until then. Do the characters even show up (Patrick made it seem like they wouldn't, since he said you have to meet Jack in Purgatory before she even pops into the new area), or do they permanently lose any extra romance content?

That would suck if they just had normal friendship content because you locked in the romance after visiting the new hub area. (Though, for the ME3 squad, it's stupid to do DLC before locking it in, since they've had romance content in Leviathan and hopefully in the Citadel mission as well.)

in Leviathan Garrus had different lines on the Normandy after the dig site mission depending on if he has been romanced lock or not so I imagine if there's no lock then you get no romance content.

My guess is that there is some romance content in the "adventure" part of the DLC about the conspiracy against Shepard, kind of how your romance option had special lines in Leviathan if they were locked in, so if you don't complete the romance beforehand you'll miss out on that.

So if I have Ashley or Liara as my romance, "locking in" would mean doing their scenes on the Citadel, where Liara talks about her mom and Ash her dad?

What would be sweet if Bioware released an SDK for ME3.

Given that they're gonna cease supporting it would be great for fans to enhance Shepard's adventures. Maybe even allow us to patch the insistent bugs that Bioware has ignored (Marksman, Omega animation, etc...)

But if this is the big character DLC and I happen to visit this hub before going on Liara's date... it would suck to miss her expanded romance content just because of the order I chose to do things.

So I was simply wondering if perhaps Liara wouldn't show up at all in the hub until you've done her date (at which point, you've either locked her in or missed your chance). That's how I was thinking it would work, since Patrick said you had to do Jack's "date" in Purgatory before she'd show up (rather than having her potentially show up right away, as long as she survived Grissom). But then Mike's statement would be kind of pointless, since you wouldn't miss anything even if you visited the hub before locking in the romance.

We'll find out next week, whatever the case (and like I said, doing DLC before locking in the romance is not a smart idea anyway).

Some fans mistakenly thought we started work on Citadel DLC in December 2012. That would have been a VERY short timeline. :)

We actually began planning not long after ME3 shipped and did most of our writing in... late summer? It's been a long road. :)

Made by the team that's making the next Mass Effect. Reassuring, eh?

With members of the previous ME in there. Omega did not suffer from a gameplay point of view. With enough writers on board, It'll be in very good hands.

Not gonna happen this time just like it didn't happen for the last two games. I don't even think they can because of all the liscensing issues.
