I'm curious why people think the endings would be any different if the child was gone and if Harbinger landed and said the exact same things and presented the exact same options. It easily could have been done. Suddenly the supposedly worst element of the endings is now removed. Are they any better?

I dont think harbringer would have been any better but the kid not being there and the dream thing being removed would have been great. What would have been amazing is if they did a mirror of saren sov fight but use harby and TIM. When you finished it goes pop and reapers die.

The sign of a great producer is to creep the hell out of the scope when nobody is looking, and then blame it fully on the lead designer.

That's relatively old news - and I know some people from Austin (the SWTOR guys) got fired last month. Anyone gone on the ME/DA teams would be new to me though.

Man, no matter how many times I see it, I can't get used to the idea of having another guy as community manager.

Also, wanting someone to lose their job because they wrote a part of a videogame that you didn't like is pretty disproportionately stupid.

He mentioned it a month before but you're right, he only actually left in the last week.

An odd time to leave.

you cant remove one element of the ending, without removing everything or replacing everything in order to completely make a change. which means to say that the starchild wasn't the only terrible thing about the ending...when the kid showed up he totally threw the narration out of the game, becoming a total game changer with 3 minutes to go before it all ended. you don't do that in any story. you simply don't. but there was a lot more wrong with the end than just him.

. I personally felt that they should have stuck with the dark energy script. but oh I remember now, they sacked the writers who came up with that mid-way in the process of making the game. =\\

Now however, its apparently "sad" to see some people leave.

lulz.

The fact that Priestly has had nothing but good things to say about his job and the people at BioWare coupled with the fact that he's still looking to be the community manager for another studio leads me to conclude that the decision was not entirely his. Someone at BioWare asked him to leave.

I wouldnt expect anything about ME just yet, not whilst they are trying to shore up DA press, ME would over shadow DA.

true, and from what I know, they prolly haven't gotten that far in the next ME in order to have substantial information to mention in a panel at PAX

Well, he did touch a few nerves. Not mine though, I thought he was awesome. But some people are a little more sensitive.

Hmm, is it just me or does it seem rather odd that Bioware Montreal is just now hiring a senior character artist and level artist? I figured they would have had those positions already filled.

Well if this tells me anything, its that MEnext is running along smoothly and perhaps out of preproduction.

They've been cost-cutting all over the company, in most of the studios owned by EA, due to financial problems recently. It's certainly not just Chris who was affected, unfortunately.

Perhaps marketing and community management are seen as areas that can be easily cut from without affecting game development. Or maybe since Bioware hasn't got a game coming out for at least a year or so, someone decided the company required fewer employees to market products and interact with fans.

Man, a shame he left BioWare. Looking forward to his fantasy books he's writing though.
