It's not impossible NME will be a prequel or a sidequel, but I personally doubt it and hope it won't be, for the sake of the universe. We've reached a point where we'll have to wait for official confirmation to know for sure.

I didn't hear it. I deduced it. It's an educated guess.
Then you might want to begin your post with "I think", "I believe", "It's likely that", or any number of helpful phrases that point out that your sentence is an opinion, and not a fact.

So uh, 5 million DAI news been pouring in today, ANYTHING Mass Effect? What happened to the Mike Gamble thingy with 21 fans?
Let DA breath, that franchise has been thought dead ever since DA2 came out
Hopefully NME can do the same! The difference between DA2 and ME3 is that ME3 had some fantastic and memorable moments whereas DA2 was consistent with its...crud.
Still loved the characters though! (Varric and Garrus bromance fanfiction is needed!)

You do not need to start a sentence with those words to denote an opinion. After he stated that comment he said it was a guess which makes it better. His experience with the series and the news led him to believe that it is going to be a sequel.
He never said it was fact and if you keep up with the news you should know it is not a fact, yet.

Yep, I don't expect to get more than a teaser trailer for the next Mass Effect game this year, with even then no actual knews other that the trailer (which would probably just give us the title and vague hints to the plot) until next year.

Yeah if I had to guess, I'd say that we'll probably end up getting some kind of CGI trailer at the VGAs show. Beyond that though, not much until sometime early next year.TheWerdna wrote...

lol mike gamble says this as though he reached a substantial portion of the ME fanbase. Bioware has yet to develop a close connection with its fanbase like Digital Extremes.

Yes,
@bioware will definitely be at the@EdmontonExpo. Just finalizing our official plans which we'll announce soon
Let's hope we'll finally get to hear something about the new Mass Effect game. It's been 1.5 years now since ME3 got released.

I can't see them announcing anything without a big splash first, and even VGAs seem a little soon considering the fact it's looking like a 2015 release.
Still, a teaser trailer this year (at the VGA's for example) would seem appropriate if we're looking at an early 2015 release.

(For the record, I believe he said the consensus was that people wanted to know who the protagonist was for ME Next, and the time period)

Though I'm guessing it will be very vague.. I'd be happy to hear info on time frame, possible conflict, if open world, etc.

I highly doubt there's a story past the concept stage yet, as I don't believe they even have a Lead Writer yet.
Probably correct. I bet they've landed on a time period, and that's about it.
