Huh, just realised that is the same Anne Lemay that worked on Assassin's Creed. Montreal must be a small place :)

Hey now, DS9 had a few epic space battle tracks that would have fit like a glove in the Shepard trilogy!

But for classic 1960s tomfoolery (which I'm assuming that link points to; can't get it running on my phone for some reason) the original series can't be beat. Nor for writer's room tomfoolery, apparently.

So if they are in the middle of writing still, does anyone know what part of the process the writings usually finished in a game? It obviously needs to be done before voice acting etc, so are we still in the first half of development?

They're always working on writing until things are more set in stone (just months before launch, I think).

But I think it'd a good bet now that the initial drafts and setup are complete.

People can give BW their thoughts on when the game happens, where it happens, how things happen, what happens, and what they want to see, as players.... but Bioware likely has the major stuff figured out and is working this year on turning it into a more complete and working product. And 2015 for finishin up, polishing, bug fixing, etc., that sort of crunch. Launch could be in 2015, but I see 2016 as at least a possibility.

Voice acting probably hasn't happened yet. I'd predict later this year.

More likely by the end of the year. They just started writing dialogue a few weeks ago. ;)

Jay Watamaniuk only started writing the first draft of dialogue last month.

Do you have any evidence that anyone started earlier?

Watamaniuk looks to be writing significant characters, maybe companions, and they don't even have names yet.

Last day in Montreal. Huge amount of difficult stuff untangled with the writers. A messy process, but fascinating and necessary. #Space!

No, what I mean is 'they'. Jay started. You and I don't know when other writers may have.

Tease incoming on March 6th to celebrate 2 years since ME3's release. Calling it now. Probably nothing more substantial than what we got on N7 Day, but something still.

By contrast, calling right now that that doesn't happen. Will gladly eat crow if I'm wrong but I'm really not seeing it.

Why not? It wouldn't give anything much away if it was like the N7 day tease.

The best part of working on the next #MassEffect is having an excuse to keep studying and replaying the trilogy for research. :)

Interesting. I hope this means they won't have any discrepancies in continuity. I've seen some of the comics clash with what was already established in the game.

I just dug up an interview with him. Nothing ME related, but seems like a cool guy. Don't know if it's been posted before, but here:

Well doves are entirely too frequently in my walking path where I live... so I feel like I'd be doing the population here a favor as well if I lose and eat one.  That way I can also knock out two birds with one stone :D:D:D.... not funny?  Ok, whatever <_<

Back on topic... I'd like to reiterate that I expect nothing more than an N7 Day-ish thing. MAYBE MAYBE a discernable picture of sorts.

I just still think it's too soon even for that. I also don't see as much game anniversary celebration in promo stuff as other folks seem to.

Haha, I love how this has influenced the current title. I'll eat a whole crow. I will!

Whats funny is not just a couple of days later, a thread pops up about the later ME comic about some more inconsistencies dealing with Miranda, Rana, and Lazarus. Oh well, he does sound like a cool guy though haha

This reminds me of that very early leaked outline with stuff like this:

You have been told about a downed turian warship on Tuchanka, disabled by a Reaper in the battle with the Reapers over the planet. Crash-landed on Tuchanka's rough terrain, it is surrounded by Reaper ground enemies and running low on ammunition and supplies. One of the commandos on the ground is the SON OF THE TURIAN PRIMARCH featured in Genophage Mission One.Landing behind enemy lines, you surprise attack from behind-- decimating key targets along the way. After the rescue is complete, the TURIAN COMMANDER receives an update to his mission from the TURIAN PRIMARCH-"My son is a failure and an embarrassment, kill him." Shepard is now faced with a tense diplomatic situation and a difficult decision. You are then asked to support a platoon or turian commandoes set to recover a turian doomsday device.

The Victi  -- I guess that's the plural -- haven't been named yet, though there is some dialogue in the file for some characters.
