Well then, as someone who lives right next to Montreal, I hope you guys are enjoying it! What is your favorite part of Montreal so far?

Vieux Port and the Cathedral area are pretty dang gorgeous to walk around. Some great terraces nearby as well.

I guess the studio's a given? Foonzo's also pretty awesome, I need to frequent there more.

Glad you're enjoying it. Downtown is the best part. It'll get even better once all the cold and snow goes away, trust me.

Great place for a gaming company, and seeing as Montreal is now in charge of the Mass Effect franchise, it's a match made in heaven, knowing my favorite universe is being crafted only kilometers away. I know you'll make us all proud ;)

By the way, do you have any Montreal Canadiens fans over there? Do they have livestreams in their offices while they're working (I know that's how crazy everybody goes for hockey over here)

Definitely a huge hockey contingency here, but there's quite a variety of teams represented with many of us from out west and from down south. Games happen after work so it's usually from a nearby pub as opposed to in the office. We hijacked our biggest conference room during lunch hour to watch the Olympic gold game live a couple weeks ago, though!

Out of curiosity, could you say which studio some of the devs originate from? There probably are a lot of Montrealers, but are there a lot of people hired directly from here or have a lot transferred from different studios, like Edmonton?

(That gold medal game was pretty fun though. Worth walking up at 6 AM on a weekday. Our school was filled with projectors showing the games during the week, and some teachers just put the game on to calm us down, especially vs USA. Good times)

Honest answer: does a good review from a critic excite you more, or the ravings of a passionate fan?

Michael Gamble @GambleMike :

Honestly, both excite me - for very different reasons. If I had to choose though, fans are key.

User:

If it wasn't for fan feedback, would citadel dlc have happened?

Michael Gamble @GambleMike :

It might have - but the fan feedback truly inspired us

Maybe I worked on something that you really don't like!

So YOU designed Mako controls?

Getting a little punchy. Nearly used 'fo shizzle' in a line of dialog. Should maybe wrap it up soon. #Space!

I hope they bring the Mako back. As unwieldy as it was, it gave the uncharted planets a vastness and sense of unexplored wonder that ME2/ME3 struggled to match. Or maybe it was just those amazing ME1 skyboxes.

Nothing wrong with the Mako, it was just badly let down by poorly designed levels that were unnecessarily difficult, and at times almost impossible to navigate.

I wish! (I would've totally made it easy to do backflips with the Mako)

Science and exploration with 1080s, backflips and half pipes. I'd sign for that.

A lot of Montrealers indeed, it feels like a pretty small world here. Everyone either has been in one of the other bazillion studios here, or knows at least 5 others who have. Fair number of Edmontonians like myself, and a handful from the states, and also from around Europe. Quite the multicultural bunch!

As someone who has been part of the dev community here in Montreal since 1997, I can confirm the local devs are a pretty tight-knit bunch. We all have friends in other studios here and/or have worked in one of sometimes several of the other studios. We all root for each other when someone's game comes out.  ^_^

Happy second birthday, Mass Effect 3. You were a lot of work, pain, and joy, and you're still worth it.

Weird though that most of the attention at this anniversary is going out to Dragon Age rather than ME...

Yikes, can't believe it is me3's 2nd birthday. Maybe it'll take another 2 for me to fully cauterize the pain away.

I can't believe it's been two years since ME3 came out. It doesn't feel that long at all!

In celebration of Mass Effect 3's birthday, all t-shirts are only $15 on the BioWare Store through 3/9! http://www.biowarestore.com/

My plan to name a character Bartholomew Sandwich has been foiled by those who seek to cage my genius.

@JayWatamaniuk Oh, I can help with that. I have ways. #twirlsmustache

Two years to the day since we launched Mass Effect 3. Time flies. Can't wait to get everyone back to that universe.

@AarynFlynn this is your way of telling me to get back to work...isn't it.
