Weird though that most of the attention at this anniversary is going out to Dragon Age rather than ME...

It was simply a case of this being entirely too early. Anniversaries only matter in this stuff if there's anything to show/official unraveling has been cleared in a big, splashy way. :P

Maybe N7 Day 2014 will prove more... constructive for Mass Effect fans.

It's been my opinion that if we didn't get anything today, we'd almost certainly get something at E3 in June. I'll be surprised if we don't. There's still about 3 months between now and then. And going of these tweets, it sounds like the devs are making solid progress.

By the way Jeff: Garak is one of my favourite ST characters.

Barrett Rodych@ForgedPixels: Whew, just got home from work! Haven't had a long late night like that on Mass Effect since we were finaling Omega I think.

Manveer Heir@manveerheir: @ForgedPixels oh man it went that late? You guys rock for doing that thing you stayed late for

Barrett Rodych@ForgedPixels: @manveerheir And Alec was still sticking around to make sure the Nightly fired off ok. Mad men we be.

Manveer Heir@manveerheir: @ForgedPixels woah I thought that was happening around the time I was leaving. Crazy

I dunno. Some of the art in that DA trailer sure reminded me of Mass Effect... never mind.

Yeah, we like doing that. Besides, every time you guys tweet about another long night, we fans know we are one step closer to playing the product of your labor :)

I am tremendously excited to see what the ME team can do with Frostbite and next-gen systems. The DAI trailer looked incredible, and I think sci-fi environments (uncherted planets pls) can look just as spectacular as fantasy ones.

Particularly if MENext is next-gen only.

I have a pretty strong suspicion it will be. This game won't be out for a long, long time. When it is out, only some particularly ardent Japanese developers (and Western sports franchises of course) will be supporting the PS360 in any noteworthy fashion. I'm almost expecting Metal Gear Solid V, which won't be out until at least a year from now if not closer to two, to announce a drop of legacy support before the end.

And really, I would be delighted to see Next on PS4/XB1 only. And like you I am salivating at the thought of ME1 skyboxes of that caliber. I never missed those Uncharted vibes as much as some others when it came to ME2 and ME3, but one look at the recent trailer for Inquisition and my heart skipped a beat and my brain immediately went to November 2007's glorious red planets.

Really nice interview with Bioware Montreal writer Ann Lemay on storytelling in space, and the place of futuristic idealism in sci-fi.

(I particularly loved the part about sci-fi "allowing us to aspire for more")

With the chance now of the trilogy being on next gen re-release, I'm more with you JeffZero.

Still think 2015 (even late in it) will be when ME:N happens though. 2016, I guess, but absolutely no later than it.

Ann was watching Star Trek at a very young age too, eh? That was my opening and it's probably still my number one. I myself premiered a scant few weeks before TNG hit the airwaves and it was on when I was a baby. I knew Picard before I'd ever heard of some purple dinosaur.

This can mean only one thing, team show and tell time for the latest work on Mass Effect.

I wonder if any of their employees ever has leaked some info of their games, while being drunk, that has made the "gaming news" :P

Looks like they have a supply of Dieu du Ciel - Pinkish Hibiscus:  Rosée d’Hibiscus is a soft spoken wheat beer. The rose colour comes from the hibiscus flowers added during the brewing process. The aromas and flavour of this tropical flower are very prominent in the beer, giving it a slight acidity and a very agreeable fragrance. It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

While it did warm up to around -2C today, it's still very winter. As such, I let Dieu du Ciel's peppercorn brew warm me up. So delish.
