My philosophy on choice canonization has everything to do with my stance. I am perfectly OK with embracing such a universe as one of myriad potential paths which just happens to be the only path put to my television screen. Would I rather it reflected my choices instead? Absolutely, which is why some sort of jump ahead or separation into a new-ish setting would be better if that isn't a reality, but you know, I wouldn't be opposed to a lot of those ending stills in EC taking the Dragon Age: Origins route of "those were potential what-ifs and rumors" and a 50-years-later RGB blending of sorts with dialogue differences at key points as well.
I guess the biggest takeaway from all this conflicting desire is that no matter which route the franchise is now taken some group is going to be pissed off, at least at first glance. It's inevitable after those endings. What's important is what's marketable, especially now that a segment of the franchise's fanbase will at least claim never to go near another title. Gotta make it look savvy to as many people as possible while maintaining a strong commitment to delivering a great narrative.
They may as well run with something I dislike at first glance, I suppose, from a strictly honest analysis; I'm pretty inclined to like the game regardless going off my track record. All five single-player BioWare games released over the previous console generation crack my top 20 games, so yeah...
And now I am incredibly off-topic. But as I rarely venture into the story board I figured I may as well get that all off my chest once and for all.
Let's all talk about #Space. What do you suppose it means? Will this game feature outer space? If so, do you suppose it -- I can't finish this farce, just... let's enjoy our tweets.
