It's Commander Shepard's -140th Birthday!

 

Indeed. What could this mean? A nonsensical comment? A typo? The ME year the developers are currently working in? If that was the case it would be 2294. Roughly 108 years after the events of ME3. Anyone got any other ideas what this could mean?

Could someone do a (short) summary of everything we know about ME:Next? I kinda went dark after Citadel was released, but I have snapped up that they planned on revealing some stuff "soon", only to go back on that recently. Do we have any screenshots, photos, or overall information about what the game will be about, or if some voice actor is working on it, stuff like that? I did read the "leaked" info, and I really hope we'll get playable races!

-No more Commander Shepard or Shepard 2.0.

-End of Shepard's story.

-Time period is something kept vague so far. BW talks as though past, present, future events do not exclude each other from possibility, even as the gist seems to be that it'll be a 'sequel'.

-Compared as WWII next to WWI. Events of trilogy may lead into what creates the situation of the next game(s).

-To continue that, the next game will not be 'necessarily related to Shepard events'.

-Seems to be a focus on exploration.

 

Anything beyond this is supposition, even if we factor in that 'leak', because nothing from that is outright confirmed.

 

We're due this Spring-Fall for some more concrete info though, in my opinion.

Whether the next Mass game is released in 2015 or 2016, this year is at least the time for Bioware to keep fans and mainstream gamers aware that Mass Effect still exists, a new game is coming, and it'll generally be about ___ and ___ (insert characteristics and maybe plot background).

Thanks! I'd pretty much gathered all this info already, but wanted to see if there was something that the sources I'd read had missed something, minor stuff and whatnot. Still, it's good to know that I'm already up to speed for when the real info starts pouring out. I hadn't heard the "from WWI to WWII" comparison, though, but I suppose it makes sense, affecting the game without doing it too directly.
