If the Wards were going to move around like you see the other Relays do during a jump, I'd hate to live on the Citadel... :o maybe that's one of the reasons they scrapped it :P

Comm Officer: "Sir! We're getting multiple reports of ships exploding near the Citadel!"

Hackett: "My God... could this be the invasion Shepard was warning us about?"

Comm Officer: "No, Sir. All appear to have been accidental. Someone put the wards into 'free swing' mode without telling anyone."

Except Halo already did that.

Shows my lack of game variety as I have never played Halo.  I do own one of the halos, reach i think from my last x box but I have not played it.

What was one of the possible original names of Mass Effect?

'Star Citadel'  A ways before ME was officially announced BioWare had put some kind of legal reserve on this name.

I think the original codename was SFX.

(For 'science-fiction, Xbox'?)

Just for you, here's an early unused concept of the Citadel in Mass Effect! #FromtheVault

It sure does look.... Futuristic haha :P Im not sure if I like this one more than the Citadel we have in the real Mass Effect games though

Why?

Jay Watamaniuk @JayWatamaniuk

Because I think of myself as a beginner. It keeps me listening, learning, and humble. It's how I plan to get better at writing.

It's different. I think it could have been neat with the rotating rings...

I still like the Citadel from ME1-3 more but it would be nice if they found a way to use this concept in future games....

@DiscoBabaloo will we be seeing any news related to the next ME at E3 2014? I don't want to waste time thinking there will be

@user no idea. perhaps @GambleMike or @YanickRRoy may know?

user

@DiscoBabaloo @GambleMike @YanickRRoy I asked... But nothing ;(

@user @DiscoBabaloo @GambleMike I wish I could provide a satisfactory answer, but I'm hesitant to start announcing announcements...

@YanickRRoy @user @DiscoBabaloo Announcement inception. Because then...you may never wake up. (or announce)

Haven't seen more sealed lips since ... well ... a long time. Got to give them credit for keeping their game secret (Bioware has had a so-so track record on that regard), but I think we are all about to die from the lack of info. Please?

How far along is the next mass effect, I've read some reports saying early stages development and some saying late stages :P

Yanick Roy @YanickRRoy

Too late for one, too early for the other... So I guess we're somewhere in the middle? :-)

User

According to Mr.Gaider, we'll be able to participate in random party banter in DAI. Something to look at for ME? =)

Yanick Roy @YanickRRoy

No, we're not likely to switch to parties and will likely stick to squads ;) (Sorry for being cagey!)

His estimation seems correct, if we follow this chart

Timeline.jpg

If game development started November 2012 (last DLC by Bioware Montreal), and stretched to 36 month scale (for a fall 2015 release date)

The game is on the verge of exiting pre-production by now, since stuff like mocap, story, dialogue, and gameplay have been in the works. We are about 17 months into the production cycle, which corresponds with where the devs have said about the state of the game. We are about to enter full production, which should last over 13 months!

For further evidence, concept art from N7 Day was released in the preproduction phase (where it should happen), and in December we heard that a section of the game demonstrating most features was operational, which would normally give the green light to enter full prduction ;)

This makes me more confident about seeing something at E3, I think.

Has anyone with twitter asked any devs to confirm or comment on the next gen trilogy listing? I feel like they would have denied it by now if it wasn't true?

Going off what you've said, I'm thinking a release date before Fall 2015 is still possible. About halfway could mean they are in the start of full production now if you take the optimistic view.

But let's all agree that, unless there is a delay like ME3 had, we can expect to see this game by Fall '15 at the latest.

I've had judgement passed, and am returning from limbo to the land of the living. Apparently I'm needed to help with this Mass Effect thing.

Self plug, I maintain everything (vague and wishy washy as it may be) I posted here (http://www.rocketcha...s-effect-40991/) is accurate too.

Yep, and the more I hear that it's most likely a sequel the happier I am. Really hope that pans out. Also, Mako-esques and arrogant skeletals, yess.
