If those are all EA games... that's a lot of games. And that means that it's likely one of them is ME4.

 

Is anyone else really excited that in under 2 weeks we might actually get a name and details for ME4?

 

Like I said, we have to be closer to getting info at this point than far from it. I think we might see something. To all those saying it's too early: a) If it releases earlier than late 2015, now is a perfect time to start marketing a bit A small teaser about a future project never bothered anybody. DICE ''revealed'' SW Battlefront and Mirror's Edge 2 at the same time as the center stage Battlefield 4, but it was still very successful from a business point of view and it reminded people ''Hey, remember this game you played a while back! Well, we have more coming in the future'' to remind them about the franchise (don't forget it's been a long time since Mass Effect has made major headlines, you gotta keep the interest present, if to a minimum at this point.)

 

As for me, I will be speeding back home after school on the day of EA's E3 conference, charging through the front door, race to the couch and then turn on the TV and let the pure joy begin

Honestly? Nothing. Just the ongoing debate if ME:N will get a reveal/teaser at E3 or not. I for one hope we get something. It won't distract me from DA:I in the least bit. Just sate my ME curiosity for the meantime.

It was Yannick Roy who made a tweet about not being able to answer when a trailer will be released, but hopefully soon, right? That tweet seems to have been deleted. That in itself tells me ME: Next is likely to get some kind of trailer at E3. Someone must have told him to keep quiet.

 

I'm 90% sure there will be something at E3, even if it's just a few more screenies with the promise for a trailer to come soon.

 

Also, I don't think there is or needs to be any conflict between DA and ME if both are being talked about at the same time. That won't have any appreciable impact on sales. The two games appeal to slightly different audiences, and those people who are fans of Bioware's games or RPG's in general will be buying both anyway.

I'm really not a Dragon Age fan, so I don't really care about it. But I don't see why announcing ME4 would harm DA:I at all, showing one teaser wouldn't destroy the Dragon Age franchise. They can focus their attention on marketing and promoting DA:I up until October and then it's all Mass Effect.

Not to mention that previous games have had marketing schedules that were much closer together. ME2 and DA:O were only launched three or four months apart, so there had to be some crossover there.

 

I honestly think the audiences are significantly different (even if many people like both), and given the volume of E3 news it shouldn't be the case that an ME announcement would "drown out" DA:I.

There are several Lead positions. Perhaps the to-be-replaced Lead Gameplay Designer is still working there. S/he'll leave as soon as the replacement arrives, or s/he gave a 6 months notice, or whatever? Or, more likely, his/her duties were temporarily assumed by another Lead or by the Project Director or whomever.

 

They can't and won't shut down the entire development of a game just because one Lead resigned or was fired. It may delay things a bit, though.

Sure - but it's not like the game is due for release in 10 months, or whatever.

Indeed. May 2015 seems highly unlikely to me, for reasons I've previously explained. Even if were announced as such, I doubt it'd happen. Fall '15 seems like a good bet. Winter/Spring '16 would not surprise me.
