Am I the only one who thought the roaring creature was a yagh, not a krogan?

Yeah, I didn't think it was a Krogan.

Krogan looked slightly animalistic and had a horn and it's roar was very unnatural. Maybe mutated?

Mike Gamble asked what "N7" meant to people at a secret fan panel last year at one of the PAXs.

At the time I figured the next protagonist would be playing someone who saw Shepard's legacy as an inspiration.

Not N7 as a literal Alliance soldier, but "N7" as a symbol.

Possibly in the far future.

But that also opens up a whole new can of worms, IF BioWare is actually is creating a new future story which takes place much later after ME3 and where the player's actions with ME3's ending (ie, choosing one of the three endings for the universe) are no longer valid.

All I can is, if Bioware is actually making their own "canon" to the ending of ME3 and that the players' choices on how that game could end no longer matters to the story of ME..... then I am going to be royally f'ing pissed.  <_<

Yeah, the conceptual photos gave an impression of a post-apocalyptic world.

Same here as well. That's why I'm thinking that it's going to take place post ME3, during the rebuilding of the galaxy.

"

  1. For the destroy ending, everything would eventually go back to somewhat normal after some time. Yeah, a lot of the AI and stuff would be lost, but it could be rebuilt.

  2. For control, I'd imagine the Shepard controlled reapers could disappear after the galaxy has gotten back on it's feet, either to stop some other threat in the far reaches of the universe, or just to patrol it in the hopes of stopping another threat. Or, if you'd imagine your Shepard would do such a thing, believes that after everything is stable, it's better for the Reapers to no longer interfere with the other race's dealings and let their example lead the way for a new era of galactic unity (at least for a time).

  3. The Synthesis ending... The only way I could see this working out is if they just say that after the galaxy got stabilized, many years later, the effect wears off and the races go back to doing their own thing. Or, simply this. In your ME universe, this is the end. There really isn't much more to the ending except "Galactic peace", and I think closes the series. Personally, this is my least favorite ending and wouldn't mind if they retconned it completely, but I know people would be upset and I can't say I'd agree with them doing it either."

Although, I suppose that the destroy ending will become canonized. Not too upset honestly.

Yeah, I thought so too. Krogan do not roar like that.

Yes you are, rewatch the video, the creature was too small to be a yagh and it had the hump of a krogran. Here is what the Yagh looked like.

Ugh, man. Destroy getting canonized will basically make all my files alt-reality.

You know, I'm still somewhat OK with it. But it kind of sucks.

I'd like it a lot more if I knew it was a sequel.

To be fair, this is Dragon Age's turn in the spotlight. Even though I'm personally not a big fan of the series' setting it does need it's time in the sun, the new Mass Effect being properly announced and shown would take some of it's attention away.

The way I see it, that would be where your story ends. Kind of like if Shepard died in ME2, that would be the end of his story.

I love the overhead look of those rocky hills, but the graphics for the stage and presenter look soooo previous-gen.

That's sort of how I get over these things, myself.

Since when? Previous Dragon Ages and Mass Effects have constanty been crossing each other with promo campaigns and it never distracted one from another.

I hope Mass Effect doesn't go down the post apocalyptic route given the franchise is pretty much the only legitimate grand space opera RPG available in games.

Provided it's a sequel that's not set in the far, far future, we kind of have to assume it will have some post apocalyptic elements.

Maybe, but from what I've read DA:I is said to be the template of what future Bioware games will build on, so maybe they're waiting to see how it turns out before pushing ahead with their game.

I'm going with the Arc theory. Sometime during ME3, the Council decided to send an Arc with thousands of people of each race into another galaxy, just in case the Reapers succeed. To avoid the Reapers getting wind of that, it was top secret (so Shepard never knew about it). Tada, new ME game without the need of having to choose an ending.

Hm... IDK, it just seems too small for a Yagh...
