Crucible wave was shown to catch the entire galaxy, even unexplored regions
True but ME:N could show us that the galaxy is still rebuilding.

I'm glad there's just the tiniest bit out there now. Even if it's not a lot to go on, and I can't reveal stuff myself, it's nice to see we're sharing a little bit at least. I personally love to see that happening, so today is pretty good for that.
I read a poem once: when you die, ask yourself three questions. How well did you live? How well did you love? How well did you learn to let go?
What I'm saying is: time to make new memories. Also, if your character reminisces about having a drink in Afterlife or chilling in the Presidium commons, you'll truly know how s/he feels. Talk about immersion!
I just wish we had a name so we can stop having the ME4/ME:Next name debate.
It's not like Asari forgot their architecture. Their new colonies/cities in Andromeda galaxy could perfeclty be built with their old arch style
But to carry enough personnel, materials etc. to not simply start with small sized colonies (like Horizon, for example) you'd need to assemble a really big fleet or create an Ark ship that would be enourmous. With the war effort going on, there wouldn't be enough resources to fund such a project, let alone keep it secret.
Yep no need to set it in another galaxy, the galaxy is big enough as it is.
How do they deal with Synthesis, though?
There's an enormous difference between ridiculous green techno-utopia and "oh crap we destroyed everything including every synthetic".
Heck, Mac even said before ME3's launch that the reason they could go crazy with big decisions in ME3 was that they'd never have to import them into anything else.
The consequences of ME3 were not designed to be carried forward. Even more so after the Extended Cut, which made things even more explicit and different.
True but ME:N could show us that the galaxy is still rebuilding.
You can't escape original Trilogy choices within the same galaxy. Synthesis ending alone makes a fundamental difference between entire life in galaxy being green or not

Or the new game could start like 500 years after the first colonists already arrived in Andromeda and big cities and everything already exists Not to mention Andromeda-native races could help the ark colonists

Unless the hyper-advanced folks hit by the Synthesis beam used a minuscule amount of their new processing power and flipped the green off.

Uh.
That basically describes the Crucible, you know - and nobody knew whether that would work either.
Heck, I can see the Council deciding to syphon off resources from the Crucible to work on an ark ship.
The likely survival of civilization in another galaxy is a hell of a lot more attractive than the Crucible.
My 2p/cents/whatever...
It will be a sequel. It will be in the same universe, not an alternate one and it will take place in the Milky Way. I think they might just "dilute" the ending of ME3 so that the implications of something like Synthesis weren't huge and then come up with a reason for no Reapers. But certain dialogue and stuff changes depending on what ending you chose.
I don't think it's going to be in another Galaxy, but I think that we are going to be exploring new regions in the Milky Way and discovering new races that way. Or a new race comes in from outside our Galaxy. But as for completely moving away from the regions of space we already know and love, I think that's out of the question. The Citadel, Omega and all the others have to be in it.

It's more than the colour, though.
EDI's voiceover promised nothing short of some kind of transhuman utopia, with infinite access to Reaper knowledge and peace for eternity.
There is absolutely no way to credibly show that in ME Dentist without ruining the image of whatever the hell they were trying to do with Synthesis in the first place.
Techno-gods who are ascended fusions of perfectly enlightened synthetics and organics are fundamentally different from ordinary humans who survived a Destroy or Control ending.
Unless the hyper-advanced folks hit by the Synthesis beam used a minuscule amount of their new processing power and flipped the green off.
That basically equals disregarding player choices. Doesn't matter if you don't like Synthesis ending, it was implemeneted and people who picked it should have this ending valid, good or bad. Not retconned out

I think the crucible alone is pushing it. imo they should just bit the bullet and make destroy the canon ending and set if 200-300 years after the trilogy if we get a good story out of it then it'll be a fair compromise.

It's happened before with choices in games, especially in the MEU, and it very well could happen again.
Look up Deus Ex: Invisible War.

So let's hope previous mistakes don't get repeated

The real question then would be why weren't the people on the ark synthesised. Or why weren't they simply told to turn around and come home once the Reapers were defeated. The council races didn't have the technology to have a ship leave the galaxy in that amount of time so they would be contactable via quantum entanglement.
I don't have a major problem with an ark idea. I think it would be a good setting for a game (although I would rather see the rebuild). But if you thought about it carefully there are a few wonky concepts the player would just have to accept, it doesn't really solve problems with the stories integrity.
A few images shown with no context and people are already mourning what's not in the next game. Good lord.
This trailer holds some validation to the ark theory. Did you see that galaxy map? Did that even look like the Milky Way Galaxy?

'Tis the BSN, Thug.
Again for a little perspective. Most if not all Uptopian societies from biblical and mythology fell for some reason or another.

I think it was just a stylized Galaxy Map.
There is NO WAY this game is taking place outside of our Galaxy.
Maybe the weird Krogan is a side effect of the new Genophage? That could be interesting. If you tried to save the Krogans you actually damned their race.
Ark theory is a nice theory. It was basically confirmed in ME3. Ending of Thessia when Shepard confronts the Asari councilor.

"continuity of civlization to consider"
She didn't say what "civilization" she just said "civilization"
