This human understands too! That's the point, though - it doesn't have to be. Chronologically ME3 could be the end of that galaxy's timeline, period. Forever. Whatever happened next was already explained by the Extended Cut epilogue videos - rebuilding, ShepReaper protection, or a green techno-utopia.
It was intended to be the end, after all. Mac said ME3 had big decisions precisely because they wouldn't have to import the world into a new story. Casey said right before ME3 launched that he couldn't see any future games being set afterwards. The Stargazer scene was set 10,000 years later, and Extended Cut showed us the consequences of the ending choice in intervals of months, years and centuries.
A new galaxy means they very literally do not have to deal with the consequences of ME3. There's no "sooner or later" if we never see the Milky Way ever again. That story would be done.

Yet more confirmation that the next ME will feature dentists. Mass Effect: Dentist, the war on tooth decay. (and obesity)

if they set it a new galaxy they may was well start a new franchise altogether, they'll just be wasting all the lore they built up in the trilogy. Making a one of the endings (destroy) canon will make people unhappy (no matter what Bioware does people won't be happy) but it'll give Bioware something to work with for their next game.

It's more of the vibe of the thing. I'm fairly sure that when they do start unveiling more information, it will include skeletal aliens, a mysterious rock guardian species, and personalised vehicles like the Mako.
The leaker certainly described a renewed focus on "N7" symbolism and imagery, which was all over those amour sets and will presumably play a big role in the advertising.
"What does N7 mean to you?", "Shepard's legacy", "Spirit of N7", etc.

What about the total destruction of entire races? The Genophage? That has to be dealt with unless everyone somehow left during the Reaper War, which is ridiculous.
This feels like the Indoctrination Theory all over again.

Yeah.... zero evidence.
If they want to move foward bw need to start making some things canon. There is no way around it to create a game which takes place in the future (after ME3).

New galaxy; they left during ME3 to escape the Reapers. This is *literally* a good way to create a game which takes place in the future, after ME3, without needing to set a canon or deal with any consequences from player choices in that game.

No - all the lore they built up would still exist. They'd still have the races, technology, history and conflicts - just in a new setting. Aaryn talked about races continuing on, and said they had a clever plan.
I think this is that plan.

What would be the point leaving after Reapers are defeated already lol?
And this is not IT in any way, nobody's rinterpreting already existing game in a different way but simply speculating what are the options to make a sequel without touching the endings. Ark theory simply happens to be seen as the easiest solution, but parallel universe due to time travel (Star Trek reboot style) has been mentioned multiple times already. If you got better idea what could they do to move FORWARD while avoiding the mass retcon of ME3, feel free to add up, no one will argue against better idea. Ark theory is not what people hope/desire to happen (unlike IT), it's just what people think may happen.

Exactly. It would take a long time to leave the galaxy. Unless they leave via some super relay or wormhole they would know the reapers were defeated before they actually got out of the galaxy. Anyway, this is supposed to stay out of the twitter thread. Should be shifted to ark theory or Andromeda thread.

I don't think you quite understand what a parallel universe "due to time travel" would mean.

What are you jumping on? I brought Star Trek example because it's a popular way of executing it. Travelling back in time creates copy of the universe and changes the new one, leaving old intact.

Reapers are dead or gone at the end of ME3, so why do they need to escape them and go to another galaxy ?

Ok, but they knew they couldn't hide from the Reapers and even if some of them would leave they would be very few to build a new galaxy (cities etc).
