Bioware aren't going to ignore ME3 or the first two games for that matter when they are making the next one. They should learn from their mistakes made from the trilogy, ignoring them will only hurt them later on.

This isn't the place

Wasn't talking about ark theory, just saying that Bioware should learn from their mistakes nothing more.

Considering you were addressing a comment talking about going to Andromeda? You'll forgive my skepticism. Anyway, yes Bioware should learn from their mistakes... and apply those lessons in the next story they write, not try and fix something that's already too far gone.

Regardless of what they do ignoring mistakes won't fix things, I wouldn't mind a reboot but only when the series is several decades old like star trek.

Some things can't be fixed, you just need to learn from them and move on, apply the lesson next time around.

Fixing doesn't exactly mean get ride of everything just take the good parts and apply those things to the next game, but ways to improve the next game is another topic.

No offense intended (truly), but you've done your bit to take this thread off track, so you really shouldn't be telling others to get back on track. Besides, a little bit of leeway for discussion is fine. So long as it stays vaguely related to dev Tweets and press releases, and doesn't totally derail the thread. Which it was before, but isn't now.

Both sides of the Ark theory debate need to call a truce until we get more information. It's all been said already.

I would if Drone didn't take every opportunity to talk about how he thinks leaving the galaxy is abandoning the setting, no matter the thread. But I'll post no more on this here.

"We have already said that the Commander Shepard trilogy is over and that the next game will not feature him/her. That is the only detail you have on the game. I see people saying 'well, they'll have to pick a canon ending'. No, because the game does not have to come after. Or before. Or off to the side. Or with characters you know. Or yaddayaddayadda." Chris Priestly

I know he is a former Bioware employee, but his quote matches up with Bioware tweets perfectly. They have repeatedly said this is not a sequel. It's not a prequel. It's not Mass Effect 4. The best way to tackle the problems of dealing with the original trilogy? Pull a Star Trek. Or a Terminator. Time warp. Just like the new movies did. And have a couple characters, like Liara, not be affected by the warp. They become a link to the original trilogy. But it also gives you a reset to the universe to play with.

They've never said "not a sequel", only specified that we know nothing.  That said, the whole "moving forward" would seem to indicate that it isn't a prequel.

And I can't wait for the never ending waves off irrational fanboy/girl butthurt when they make good on these statements to the letter.  LOL

It depends on how you interpret "moving forward".

It could be moving forward in time.  It could be moving forward to something new which is independent of chronology (e.g. this story takes place in another system; unaffected by the Repear War).  It could mean anything, really.

It could.

I still wouldn't bet on it referring to a prequel in some odd roundabout way.

"Only your actions will be remembered" *insert a whole bunch of other lines about actions and choices, in ME3*

@ thebatmanreborn....well we can just pull up old quotes from various BW staff and discuss it then? Wanna talk about Hudson's ABC ending? debate how much different that was to the Red-Green-Blue endings? Also you're spot on....at the time, Priestly was a BW employ. its no surprise that his public comments are in line with the rest of the company's....that's what you do when you work in a company; they give you things to say and you say it. =\

none of those things could be correct now. and a lot of the time we get frustrated when they tweet ambiguous things with #Space attached...but hearing no news could be a very good sign; at the very least hearing no promises wouldn't get our expectations up.

Hello, can we keep things on topic here, please? Delving into discussions in a way that deserves its own thread is not what this thread is for beyond being a springboard. You are more than welcome to continue talking about ark theories, ME3 endings, whether the next Mass Effect is a sequel/prequel/reboot in private or in threads dedicated to those topics.

Can we all just talk about how ridiculous that Geth Pulse Rifle is for a second? Holy cow is it heavy! And it has a nice finish, material wise. Very beefy.

(PS: Me acknowledging the various discussions surrounding the next Mass Effect means I have seen and read the topics and this thread, nothing more)

Jos, just one question? Can it fire things like pellets or foam darts? If so I might consider buying one but only if the price point drops to a point that it becomes reasonable. I get that Tri-Force makes great products but it comes across as a "Rich Fans Only" accessory.

It'd be nice if we got some Tweets in relations to ME:N which actually give us some substantial information to discuss soon. You can't blame people for going a bit off topic when there's a bit of an information blackout in place. Not that I'm encouraging people to go off topic, but it's understandable.

The person/group who made the real life GPR: is he/she selling it? Doing mass production?

Got to tell ya; I may have to spring for that!

Also the nerd in me wants to know if the weight is from the material or is it heavy to follow lore (not sure what the in game weight was).
