It is not about being nice. It's about being productive and courteous. Nobody is being censored by anyone asking for feedback and discussion to be respectful. Respectful does not mean you can't disagree or voice an opinion that is not favourable. It means keeping name-calling and unnecessary rude flavouring outside of your argument.
I'm not asking or telling anyone how to conduct themselves. All I ask is for your consideration.
Exactly. And this is why I end up disagreeing with him ('Bob').
I can't tell what that is (Energy drinks? Liquor? Fireworks? Insulin?), but it seems legit.

I thought it was energy drinks at first, but it's actually.... pyrotechnics!

It's a manipulable projectile power, so you can also curve it around cover and such; a Snark Arc, if you will.

.@AlixWiltonRegan has had many great roles (Ser Cauthrien, Traynor, now Inquisitor), but it's hard to beat "N7 Fury Unhappy with Graal VII."
Watching a speedrun of Mass Effect 1. Someone went and finished it in an hour and a half, with some serious glitching out all over.
Guy basically killed Fist and became spectre within the first 15 minutes.
Alex Wilton Regan was Susan Rizzi the fury? Who knew?
Also, Dear Jos, we want to see a new screen shot of the on going Me3 MP data that was posted a while back on here.
Speaking of data, it's been over 2 years, let's get some more juicy numbers like the endings breakdown ![]()

I never understood the appeal of speed runs.
Games you enjoy should be savored.

From what I've seen, and also speaking for myself, those who speedrun games enjoy the games so much that they've dedicated innumerable hours into it. They've savored the heck out of them, and have obtained such a mastery over them that an effective way to bring new challenge from them are to get fastest possible completion times. It can depend on the game, but you don't develop that fastest or most efficient path through a game without having completionist'd it a least a few times over.

I suspect there's also a number of them just do it for sport. They may or may not have plugged in a lot of hours into the game legitimately (i.e. savored). They've probably researched other speeedruns (e.g. exploits, glitches, etc) and just try to outdo the next person.
Just my hunch. There was a podcast where the hosts talked about it. I think it may have been the last Giantbombcast.

Yeah I've played games to the point where I try to set odd challenges for myself to try something different. Speed just isn't one of them ![]()
NG+
Okay, I can kinda see that, though NG+ has never been a big priority for me.
Meh I'm a completionist, even games I replay 5th/10th time I have to finish every single quest and collectible. I'm like Ubisoft's wet dream...

And that's cool, but everyone savors games in their own way. Mass Effect and other story and character focused games may not be the ideal game to subject to a speed run, (it is usually intense skill-based games that are fun to watch being played at a really high pace, especially if you've played those games yourself) but it is still a game, and it can still be completed, and someone can be faster at it. Mass Effect's speed run was fairly boring to me, but I find it fascinating to see what shortcuts people come up with that I don't think of.

Dear Beerfish, I cannot oblige as it is not up to me what statistics get shared. There are a lot of matches played, and a lot of Cerberus troopers got shot in the face. More than the last time.

I agree. I did the whole trilogy in about 19 hours. I'm sure I could've done it quicker, but I'm content with that. And yes I have played the trilogy numerous times and ME3 nearly *** times. I will shortly
To date my hardest playthrough, at least for ME3, has been using a level 1 pistol with no powers and the same for squadmates, no powers and only a level 1 weapon on hardcore.
To add the ME games add soo much replay value
Yeah, I would agree that those individuals who are doing the speed runs, have gone above and beyond the normal "savor" phase of a game, and have moved on to "challenges" within the game.

Yeah, and the story and character focus are why I couldn't do a speed run.
If I don't spend fifty hours asking my crew "What are your thoughts on the last mission?" I feel like I'm doing something wrong ![]()
Yeah, this is pretty cute, hehe.

Here's someone beating Dark Souls II in just under 18 minutes, which is one sub-20 that Knockingbr4in will never achieve. And that's cool, but everyone savors games in their own way. It's a shame. I'd love for one last infographic to come out, but that ship sailed a long time ago.Dear Beerfish, I cannot oblige as it is not up to me what statistics get shared. There are a lot of matches played, and a lot of Cerberus troopers got shot in the face. More than the last time.
