Both, I went and visited the team in Montreal a little while back. There are really cool people in both locations.

There are also a good number of us in Montreal who originate from Edmonton! We pretty much all know each other fairly well I'd say. One big happy family, d'awww~

Well then, as someone who lives right next to Montreal, I hope you guys are enjoying it! What is your favorite part of Montreal so far?

Vieux Port and the Cathedral area are pretty dang gorgeous to walk around. Some great terraces nearby as well.

I guess the studio's a given? Foonzo's also pretty awesome, I need to frequent there more.

By the way, do you have any Montreal Canadiens fans over there? Do they have livestreams in their offices while they're working (I know that's how crazy everybody goes for hockey over here)

Definitely a huge hockey contingency here, but there's quite a variety of teams represented with many of us from out west and from down south. Games happen after work so it's usually from a nearby pub as opposed to in the office. We hijacked our biggest conference room during lunch hour to watch the Olympic gold game live a couple weeks ago, though!

So YOU designed Mako controls?

I wish! (I would've totally made it easy to do backflips with the Mako)

Out of curiosity, could you say which studio some of the devs originate from? There probably are a lot of Montrealers, but are there a lot of people hired directly from here or have a lot transferred from different studios, like Edmonton?

A lot of Montrealers indeed, it feels like a pretty small world here. Everyone either has been in one of the other bazillion studios here, or knows at least 5 others who have. Fair number of Edmontonians like myself, and a handful from the states, and also from around Europe. Quite the multicultural bunch!

As someone who has been part of the dev community here in Montreal since 1997, I can confirm the local devs are a pretty tight-knit bunch. We all have friends in other studios here and/or have worked in one of sometimes several of the other studios. We all root for each other when someone's game comes out.  ^_^

It is the perfect thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

While it did warm up to around -2C today, it's still very winter. As such, I let Dieu du Ciel's peppercorn brew warm me up. So delish.

Wait is Jos back on ME again? Didn't he only switch to DA:I last year?

Also: combat confirmed for MENext.

There go my dreams of an Eden Prime farming simulation game.

I have to keep you guessing.

Project 365? We are indeed up to the 70th day of the year (well 71st... It's 1am here)... Any meaning with this?

Edit: Clicked Twitter link... Guess it's just another social media fad... A daily photo journal.

http://365project.or...s-a-365-project for more info, if y'want. =)

It's been a fun project and means I don't just post pics of my cats or nail polish ALL THE TIME, anymore. (Just most of the time, when it comes to the cats.) My theme is mostly slice of life stuff.

I keep forgetting that the game is being made in Francophone Canada. That's pretty cool!

(Do you have to know French to get residency or citizenship in Montreal, I wonder?)

You have to prove fluency in French as per administered tests (written and verbal) to an acceptable level in order to be eligible for residency in Quebec specifically, yes.

I would adore if there's a remote corner of a map in Inquisition with waist-high walls and crates scattered around for no particular reason. Plus a red barrel or three.

I tried.

I love all the tittle changes for this thread! You're awesome MrDbow!

I don't know which admin pinned the thread, but I'll make sure to send many thanks to whomever it was tomorrow when I find out. =)

And I admit, this thread title change made me laugh out loud just now.

Damn, levels confirmed.

There goes my pipe dream that Montreal was spending three years on next-gen Mass Effect Solitaire.

Technically, even playing Solitaire would still take place inside a game level asset...

Some of our moms really are levels, guys, some of us being of Platformish descent and all? So can we please keep things strictly two-dimensional here?

And before anyone asks, yes, I am "forced" into a strict diet of bananas, mushrooms and energy tanks. But I take issue with the typical phrasing. I happen to enjoy bananas, mushrooms and energy tanks, and frankly, I'm proud of my ability to shoot balls of fire at people.

I don't know, I used to stick to that diet, but now there's things like BattleBlock Theater, Super Meat Boy, N+(+), Guacamelee, Rogue Legacy, Rayman Origins/Legends, Outland, and of course Spelunky. While I agree that DKC, Mario, and Megaman are a nice diet to stick to, there is so much good choice these days.

Then Zephyr, you must have been to much more controlled places of the web than I because I been called almost every name under the sun from the last place I mentioned ME: "Next". Also you have to admit there are people who have been very hostile to people who call the next game "ME4".

Nothing wrong with referring to the next game as the next Mass Effect game, or Mass Effect: "Next", until the proper title comes in. I get acquaintances/friends/family asking me about "ME4" and ME:Next" in person, and I tell them I'm working on the next Mass Effect. I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with people being zealous about the correctness of the name, but they have as much to go on as you do, so please don't care too much about what they tell you. :)

Hey bioware! Any more tiny details you can tell us?(This is genuine curiosity and not sarcasm.)

I was going to cite wikipedia on some details on microorganisms as a reply, but I thought I'd spare you my sense of humour. As far as the game is concerned, I really don't think I'm allowed to share any information, sorry. :)

What would happen to you if you did Jos?(Besides probably getting demoted or losing your job.)

Oh, *besides* losing my job? That isn't exactly a trivial consequence to me. :)

Leaks from Jos also cancel the game entirely.
