O.K. can we move on from the ME3 endings please? We have debated that to the abyss and back. Both sides have their arguments but ultimately both groups have gotten what they want and should be looking towards the new installment.

Well you won't get a timeline or location yet, & it could be that the name gives away either the timeline or location, hence why that's not being released yet either.
I think we all know that. That's why we're having a moan.

I liked the ending. What now?
So did I, but I've come to sympathise with the people who feel they didn't get what they were told they would. Bioware did **** up the PR a bit. But the point I continue to try and make is that they're ALSO cocking it up now. They've reacted the way most people do and gone from one extreme to the other. I'm asking them to take the moderate path.

You can like the ending, But don't delude yourself that the majority likes it. The ending has some flaws in my opinion, I'd actually like to hear why some people like the ending.

Alright.
So, when do you guys think we'll learn more. I'm putting my money on N7 day honestly. I'd love to be wrong and see some more at Gamescom or Pax though.,

Because the ending you see is not the real ending.

Mass Effect 4 will probably be a reboot. But a clever reboot, It'd use a concept to ditch the pervious trilogy without considering it non-canon.

I'm with Madcat on this one - I think I talked to a single person who liked the ending so far and a whole lot more who hated it. I guess it just depends who your friends and their tastes are and doesn't really tell us anything concrete.

In their defense, some people like Rice pudding, some people hate it.

No body, online or in real life, said they liked the ending. the most I got was "It was okay I guess"
Were you actually around?
Because I sure did.

About the title. I can understand that not being released yet. Most writers don't actually come up with a finalised title until near the end of the process. In the little bit of writing I've done, I never bothered with anything except a working title until I've basically finished.
Let's not give Bioware a hard time about that one. Setting and timeline is a different matter though.

You could consider Refuse to be fail state, like Shepard's death at the end of ME2. Same with the vaporize ending, though that would really just beg a longer timeline for recovery rather than a practical change to storyline. Then you just have to consider the three endings and lead them all to the same place, minus any small changes. All endings result in spacefaring species with Reaper tech reconstructing the damaged relays, with Destroy taking the tech from destroyed Reapers and the other two just getting the Reapers to tell them. If the Reapers remain, they go into hibernation in dark space or somesuch. Destroy ending removes Geth, but they could also be destroyed during story. If they're important, the Quarians can re-create them, or they could just disappear from the gameworld as they would be stuck on one planet with the Quarians. Quarians being eliminated are a bigger issue, really, but that can be handled similarly -- hell, make it so the recreated Geth ultimately kill all of them if you're feeling particularly feisty. They cannot possibly account for four different endings in a single game, especially when one of them sees every existing race die.
Only Synthesis really does anything, and that can totally be hand-waved away without even saying that anything happened. Nobody saw it happen, after all, and it makes no damn sense in any case. Just take the narrowest case. Suddenly, all endings are right back in line. The issues with that are tech (huge leap in tech with Reapers) and that players will feel railroaded by the trivialization of an already-bad ending sequence.
Polls around the interwebs were 90% negative. Sorry, but it just isn't true. The whiners were just vocal.

Uhh nobody deluded anything except for the guy that said "nobody liked it ever."
Goes both ways. Don't delude yourself that the majority hated it.

While I understand Bioware's, and more importantly Mike Gambles, hesitation to let the name loose after what happened last time with the PR and Dev speak I don't think leaving us in the dark without even some more-than-vague info isn't helping them either.

Actually, Yes, The majority hated it. I'm neutral towards the ending, And i choose Synthesis. But the plot is weak. All polls on all sites indicate that the ending is hated massively.

Confrimed for the next game-
Mako Returns, it's faster and has no guns
the "hero" is an N7 soldier, human male or female. NOT Shepard..... Mmmmmkay, that's pretty lame but okay lets move on.
It's running on Frostbite 3 and it's really pretty and stuff
It's not called Mass Effect 4
It's muliplayer is focused on coop rather than comp
There may be more races to play, but they only talked about the Hero N7 marine human who is not shepard.
Yeah. Meh. it's just meh, to be honest.
At least the mako and planetary exploration return tho.

Surely a setting would be set in stone. That would be like announcing Skyrim and then later changing the setting to Hammerfell.

I'm glad it is a "side story" - there are 2 years between ME 1 and ME 2 where the reapers haden't shown up yet and only a few people knew about them, Shepard was being rebuilt and the rest of the galaxy was going it's own mary way, 2 years is a long time to set a story in and you don't have to mess about with ME 3's endings.
Seems to work fine to me.
