I mean, we have a random tweet.

I'm not inclined to believe a random tweet.

Not a literal side-story, It means that it's a weak storyline compared to the originals.

What is "weak?" Surely you're not suggesting that the scope of each game needs to get larger and larger and larger, because that's poor storytelling. So what do you mean by a weak storyline when we don't even know it yet?

Huh. So it's "heavily implied" that it's set in a new Galaxy? That's pretty disappointing, for me at least.

And I can't say I like the design of the new Mako. It's just... ugly. Looks like a toy racing car, looks nothing like the original Mako.

This tweet from Andrea Rene who where present states it.

Sounds like the timeline of #MassEffect will be during Shepard's lifetime but won't involve Shepard...hard to tell @GambleMike being cagey!

Yeah, if that's the case I'm not interested.

I'm curious if the ones assuming and worrying it's a side-story are the same people that praise the glorified side-story that was ME2, as the crown jewel of the series....

What is "comp" multiplayer? By that do you mean complementary, or co-op?

Competitive MP. Like player vs. player over Internet and LAN.

Things like Team death match, capture the flag, bomb defuse, hardpoint, rescue and other objective and death-match variants.

Mass effect 1 has a stronger storyline than 2, yet people still liked it even though it was less important. People can appreciate smaller scope stories.

Well first of all the only famillier races you'll meet are the once that came with you so expect only few asari, krogan etc etc - also there will be no famillier goverments - in fact everything is alien to everybody.

Oh, well that would make more sense. Somehow I jumped into reboot/alternate universe from the whole other galaxy comment, but yours could be true as well. I'm not sure which one I'd want to see- yours seems more interesting in some ways, but it feels like it would be leaving behind a lot of the things that made the first series interesting.

I'm guessing that's a picture of the backend of the untextured Mako?

Okay, so we got a bit more information, and it was solid information. I'm eager to see a video of the panel myself. Sure, I wanted more. But I always want more! Especially when it comes to Mass Effect. I'm just going to have to be patient. It helps to know that it's being worked on diligently by very creative people who truly care about Mass Effect and want it to succeed.  And to celebrate that fact, I'm going to boot up my console and start a new playthrough of the trilogy right now.  This time I'll save Jenkins, I know it!  :D

It's not really something that can be described by words, As the tweet said, it has mixed feeling and it feels like a side-story. I had that possibility in mind ever since E3.

Well it all depends on Bioware making the "new" things interesting .

Mass Effect is my favourite franchise and after everything I've heard today, I'm really worried it's going to be nothing like the franchise we know and love. The Mako looks silly, there's a chance it's set in another Galaxy (although others are saying it's set in ours, during Shepard's lifetime+it's a side-story).

I dunno. We still haven't got anything solid and I'm scared that this is going to ruin the franchise for me.

I don't think anything was heavily implied. We were basically told nothing, so people are leaping to conclusions.

Uhh, that's very much textured. I don't know which end it is though. Looks stupid either way. Looks like the Salarians made it.

I think it is a reboot to be honest. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, they just need to nail certain aspects of the gameplay.

I agree with the person who said the Mako looks like it isn't textured. Purple and white is pretty popular with tech demos.

Yeah, it's one of my favorites and probably my favorite single player experience ever. But..... Just try and keep an open mind for a bit.

Just try.

It's not a reboot. I think that's been pretty much confirmed.

This is just a guess, but I predict that whatever the actual storyline is, it will be deemed "weak" and "not Mass Effect" unless it begins with Shepard being resurrected again.

I don't mean like they're starting over. I think they're just gonna scrap the whole Shepard and import thing and the Reapers and all that jazz.

I do not think any choices nor outcomes of your respective play through of Mass Effect 1,2, or 3 will have any clout or "player agency" in the next game.

While I personally like ME2 the most, it's only so popular because it's the game-previous-to-the-latest-released.

I was actually wondering when then whole, "this new game looks terrible, ME3 was so much better" was going to start, because that's what the fanbase does. They wear nostalgia glasses.

Well for what it's worth, if it really is a side-story, during the Shepard trilogy, I too would be disappointed.
