I'm curious if the ones assuming and worrying it's a side-story are the same people that praise the glorified side-story that was ME2, as the crown jewel of the series....
While I personally like ME2 the most, it's only so popular because it's the game-previous-to-the-latest-released.
I was actually wondering when then whole, "this new game looks terrible, ME3 was so much better" was going to start, because that's what the fanbase does. They wear nostalgia glasses.

Things like Team death match, capture the flag, bomb defuse, hardpoint, rescue and other objective and death-match variants.
Alright. I think that's a terrible idea, but that's just me.
It's not really something that can be described by words, As the tweet said, it has mixed feeling and it feels like a side-story. I had that possibility in mind ever since E3.
Well for what it's worth, if it really is a side-story, during the Shepard trilogy, I too would be disappointed.
