I don't mean like they're starting over. I think they're just gonna scrap the whole Shepard and import thing and the Reapers and all that jazz.
I do not think any choices nor outcomes of your respective play through of Mass Effect 1,2, or 3 will have any clout or "player agency" in the next game.

Mass effect 1 has a stronger storyline than 2, yet people still liked it even though it was less important. People can appreciate smaller scope stories.

Eh, comp MP isn't for every body but I think BioWare should give players that want to experience it in the MEU an opportunity.
They could have all 3 and it could all 3 be great. Great single player. Great coop. Great MP.

While I personally like ME2 the most, it's only so popular because it's the game-previous-to-the-latest-released.
I was actually wondering when then whole, "this new game looks terrible, ME3 was so much better" was going to start, because that's what the fanbase does. They wear nostalgia glasses.

Well for what it's worth, if it really is a side-story, during the Shepard trilogy, I too would be disappointed.

I wouldn't mind being able to VISIT another Galaxy briefly, but having the whole thing set in a completely different area of space - that's too much for me.
Also, this Mako better be like an "exploration-class" Mako and not be totally replacing the old one. Because I ****ing loved that thing and don't want to see it replaced completely by the little Salarian buggy or whatever that thing is.
The more i stare at it, the more i think new mako looks kinda like a beetle, while the old mako had a design that could loosely resemble a mako shark.
Whats it going to be called, M84 Dung Beetle?

Halo has like a ten-hour campaign. Halo is an excellent, excellent universe, but it's not a good example of single-player-heavy games.
Mass Effect is my favourite franchise and after everything I've heard today, I'm really worried it's going to be nothing like the franchise we know and love. The Mako looks silly, there's a chance it's set in another Galaxy (although others are saying it's set in ours, during Shepard's lifetime+it's a side-story).
I dunno. We still haven't got anything solid and I'm scared that this is going to ruin the franchise for me.

This is how i guess it will function - you start of as a captain of some space vessle crewed with humans a couple of asari, some Krogan and (insters some of the other races) - so the vessle stumble on some ancient gate/artifact or whatever
ZAP your ship is in a new galaxy ..where your ship crash on some planet.
And now you have to explore to first fix your ships and then travel around meeting new aliens and perhaps try to find a way home?
So stranger in a strange land ..

BioWare should aim to achieve a higher standard. And we as players and customer should hold them too it.

How does this jive with "a mix of the old and the new"? What old?
The "old" part is just the feel and stuff, nothing of narrative consequence. The atmosphere, that "mass effect-y feeling" the combat will probably be indicative of ME3s and so on and so on. That's what I think when they say "old" and new.

I really don't think it's going to be completely set in a new Galaxy. Old characters potentially returning was mentioned in NerdAppropriate's tweets, so I think (and really hope we're staying in the Milky Way).
Honestly, what I need right now is for one of the devs to reassure me that this is going to be a Mass Effect game. That even though the Mako is now a Salarian land-rover with no guns, even though Shepard is gone, that this is going to feel like a Mass Effect game and that instead of drastically changing everything they just build upon and improve.
Also, let us walk around the whole of the Citadel now pls.

You brought some of the old galaxy races with you and your ships old galaxy tech (also the mako) - after all it would make sense that the crew of the old galaxy ship made up the bulk of your squard.
