So I was playing ME3MP and I just realize that this guy:
looks somehow alike the concept for the NME protagonists we've seen so far. Especially the very open helment and the 'X' they have on their backs. I wonder if it was a product of some early concepts, or served as a base...

Iirc, Cerberus is supposed to model their equipment off advanced prototypes being created for the alliance. They are involved in the prototyping process themselves or else just steal the plans. So it makes sense for the gear Cerberus wears to eventually find it's way into standard military use.
Even though that the main character's armor looks old in the concept pictures, if we assume the game takes place decades or more after ME3, it would be old.

Do they? Cerberus stuff in ME3 seems very original, and only for game related reasons some of their armors ended up being used by the player or squadmates.
Just to clarify, I didn't want to imply Cerberus is somehow involved in ME'4', just that the armor looked alike. I actually don't expect any connection between them whatsoever in canon, but I wonder if there is one in the design process.

It does look somewhat similar, though the armor they teased had leather elements (which I quite liked). It was not like any armors in the series from that perspective. Still, a lot may change, they are looking for a new senior designer after all.

It was a great experience. Place was packed, especially the Bioware Booth. I didn't see any Mass Effect goers in cosplay (minus some nice pieces of N7 wear from the Bioware store), but I did see an excellent Revan cosplay, so I was quite satisfied
I saw plenty of devs (which I tried to ask about ME Next, but their lips were sealed together with industrial quality medi-gel (which they were kindly supplying to us
Among others (really sorry if I forgot/made a mistake on someone's name or title), I saw Ann Lemay (writer, on these forums), Scott Brown (lead environmental artist), Vladimir (another environmental artist), and Jo Berry (another writer I think, also on these forums). You were all so kind (I saw Ann in particular talk a long time with a girl with a disabilitiy. So nice of her), and while I know you guys couldn't answer anything, we still had fun (Ann had asked me if I wanted a medi-gel bandage, but I had already gotten one, so I told her I reached my maximum carrying capacity for medi-gel.
And then on the way out, I saw the one and only Yanick Roy, lead developer on the Next Mass Effect. He's a real cool guy and we talked for a while. He explained to me how he's been developing Mass Effect since the first one, and halfway through Mass Effect 2 he was asked if he wanted to help form the Bioware studio in Montreal. Since then, well, you guys know what they're working on
Now, onto the info I
According to Yanick Roy, they want to return to the basics, like with ME1. He explained that as the trilogy progressed, they refined it, in every aspect, in order to tell the story they wanted to tell. Now they have an opportunity to go back and recheck how they did each aspect of the game. He also mentioned wanting to give the player more opportunity to role-play and choice, and when I mentioned that by ME3 the game had become ''Pick Paragon to win and maximize EMS'', he said that was something they were going to look at again.
He obviously didn't talk timeline, location or links to previous games, but he did say that the game was in the thick of development, as we all know. When I asked whether we'd get more info this year, he said definitely keep an eye out, but don't expect anything major. When I asked about DAI, he said they definitely didn't want to reveal anything too major that would come and steal DAI's thunder (he went so far as to claim that it's going to be the best game Bioware's ever put out.). And when I was talking with Ann she said to definitely keep an eye for N7 Day, so it looks like we might get something after all.
That's about it. I took some pics, but don't know how to upload them to this site (do I really have to post them online on an ImageShack or something to use them?). Thanks again to all the Bioware devs I meet. You guys were awesome, and I know you guys will put out a game we'll all be falling in love with, again.
(Edit: I also forgot to mention that I saw Tricia Helfer, the voice of EDI. She was closing up, but we were able to drop in and say hi. Very nice and cute girl. When I mentioned that my favorite line from her was "I enjoy the sight of humans on their knees", she replied " That was a joke..." And we all laughed. It was another nice encounter

I don't know why, but hearing that salarians are confirmed makes me happy. I mean, there's a 99.9% chance that ALL of the familiar races are returning, but it's cool to hear that they're coming back with upgrades.
Though I hope they don't change the design too much (if at all). The krogan in the E3 teaser looked a bit weird, so I'm hoping that it was some kind of mutated krogan.
