I too would be in favor of such a project, and I'm confident you and I are not the only ones.

I support this, let's make a charity drive to show that the fans want ME1 released for all platforms and re-released on the xbox.

Make it a next gen game. :)

Patrick is good about answering stuff. :) and yeah, totally support a PS3 port for ME1. I bought a 360 for it, but many folks aren't in positions to do such things. (myself included lately.)

Still... Happy for the couple. :)

Really good, although I'm finding it's not quite as distinctive and memorable as the LotSB or Overlord ones?

Because of Microsoft holding the publishing license, right? Shame Sony or EA cant buy a sub-licen and re-publish on PS3.

"Oh, I don't even have a clue about the legal stuff. Just overhauling the engine to an ME3-quality level would be a HUGE project"

Why am I not surprised that my chat with Patrick Weekes would make it onto the forums.

A remastered edition of Mass Effect would be nice, but as my reply that didn't make it up here said, I'd settle for a simple port to PS3. Balance it out. They could change two things about the game and alter the title to "Mass Effect:  The Beginning" and republish it to dodge Mircosoft's BS.

In any case, being able to talk so long with a Mass Effect writer was an honor and a privelige. I got an honest question answered and even got to share some thoughts. It was nice. :)

That would be great but it wont change anything since there is no possibility to import a ME1 save in ME2 on PS3

Small patch for ME2 would fix that

The PS3 version had some elements from ME3's engine integrated along with updated graphics. The in-game events are probably still the same between the PS3 and 360. Meaning a patch or a DLC addon may allow for save importing.

I was wondering if Leviathan was any good, and judging by everyone's impressions it is. Can't wait 'till I actually have money to buy it. #beingapoorgamersucks

Really excited though!

I thought the first half was quite good but the second half was kind of dull. The way they integrated the DLC and the way it plays (after each "mission" you're free to roam the galaxy and do what you want - continue with the next mission in the DLC or do whatever) was great though. Being forced down a linear path was always what bugged me about ME2 DLC. Hopefully any future ME3 DLC follows this route too.

It was great. I thought the beginning and finale were the strongest but that's probably because I had framerate problems during the second mission ;P Anyway, it's a great DLC. Easily up there with Overlord and Bring Down The Sky. Of course, depending how much you're into the entire ending drama you may add or subtract +/- 2 points, but overall it's a great ME adventure and like it was already said, it's implemented better than other DLCs since you may do each part of it whenever you want (you return to Normandy & can select whatever destination on the map after each mission). Also, in comparsion to all pevious DLCs, this time the entire squad (+ Steve and Hackett) have new dialogues. Makes it feel so much more 'real' and part of the core game than previous DLC for ME1 or ME2.

I wasn't completely satisfied with the ending (EC included) but if it adds some new story material and makes the game feel larger and more complete I'm all for it.

Also like the sound of it feeling more like it's part of the core game. I always wanted DLC to feel like that so I'm sure I'll enjoy Leviathan. Just gotta get me some MS points.

By the way does Joker have any lines?

Leviathan manages to feel like its own self-contained arc, which is rad. I now view the game's narrative progression as "Prologue", "Genophage", "Geth/Quarian", "Leviathan" and "Endgame", and all the side content of varying importance levels therein. Leviathan isn't as long as any of those, but with a gripping opening and a strong, memorable finish, it really does stand on its own.

If Omega can pull off a similar degree of quality, I will definitely consider ME3's DLC run almost as great as ME2's. Anything more might even push it above 2!

I follow the same narrative progression. Out of curiosity, where are you planning to do the Omega DLC?

Heh, neat.

Hmm... I'm honestly still undecided. Kind of depends on what we hear about in previews, maybe. As for what we know so far -- simply, that it's about Aria and Omega -- probably at least after Tuchanka. Possibly somewhere around Leviathan. I kinda like having all the squadmates before it, just like Leviathan. So yeah probably in the game's back half, since I felt like the back half was a bit light at launch, anyway.

Also, is that a Legacy of Kain quote in your sig? Niiiiiice.

I want to leave Omega until after Leviathan (I also felt the later stages of the game could use some lengthening), but I don't think I could put that DLC on the back burner for so long, especially after the Cerberus Coup and helping Aria in Act 1. With Leviathan, I don't mind setting the DLC aside as the opening email doesn't make any mention of a potential "Reaper killer."

I sort of feel that seeing the Citadel attacked and Thane's death would serve as a good motivator to launch an assault on a key Cerberus location.
Also, yeah, it is from LoK.

Hah, interesting point. And cool to see AV in agreement with us as well. This sorta stuff always intrigues me; I guess it's the writer in me. Figuring out where things fit like this... It's fun.
