When they talked about the last picture, there were strong hints that we could explore space, as in actually flying our own ship.

Did anybody else get that impression or am I imagining things?

Well, they mentioned "space as a place". I have no idea what kind of mechanics they are thinking of there. But it seemed more than what you get in ME2/3.

That made me think of the art for the moon-like place with what looks like floating rocks. Maybe some of the places we'll be exploring have low gravity?

This is EAware we're talking about. Thus i remain highly skeptical. Not impressed.

That deliberate vagueness starts to look like a lack of confidence after too long. Folks are digging your pillars and philosophy, but it's time for some actual substance.

Well, to me it looks like he's holding a gun from the top side of the barrel. You can just make out his thumb. I can see why you'd think what you do though; for a while, I thought "Is that a tail???"

Speaking of the newfound "Trilogy Definitive" hubbub this morning, I'm glad it happened and I can't wait to return on PS4. I'm totally in line with the "Fall 2015: Trilogy; Fall 2016: Next" camp. It'll be excellent to return to the first three games after what will by then be three years since my last playthrough. If this should pan out I know which game I'll be playing Holiday '15 (yes, I only play like one game a season at best; I'm just not much of a gamer!)

As for the event, I'm quite satisfied. As I've stated, I sympathize with the disappointment in how slowly this is all progressing. But I also understand the how and why here, and I think in the end, if all this time amounts to a quality product, we're all going to be damn grateful for it.

Come on, man, it's clearly a gun. Something like Franchi SPAS-12 held from the handle

The lead writer Chris Schlerf is formerly the lead writer of Halo 4 btw. Not a good sign. I hope im proven wrong, but my gut tells me otherwise.

A few takeaways from the stream.

  • The chat stream was brutal, full of entitlement and the usual 'gay hate' / 'ME3 endings' noise.
Sadly I can see such hate accompanying any ME-next news all the way through to release - it's not going away until replaced by success.

That sounds like typical Twitch. Hell, more like the Internet in general. Personally, I ignore chat during a developer stream and pay attention to the developers.

Spaceflight seems insanely ambitious for what sounds like an already huge game :P

I was thinking more like a bigger variety of outside space environments (asteroids, moons) and abandoned space stations like we might've seen in the concept art.

Just a different kind of environment than they had with the terrestrial planets in ME2/ME3.

Interesting info from Yanick.

@user We had the "peak into development" at E3, but we haven't built or released a trailer yet.

Yep, but there's been no hint Bioware will do anything for it.  It's usually in the first week of December, I think, so there isn't long until we find out one way or another.

Yep - I don't think they've even been announced for this year yet though. The VGAs/VGX might be a different format or something after last year's fiasco.

For me, it was the tomb artwork - pyramids coming together sort of from the floor and ceiling.  I like the thought of dangerous exploration in ancient places.  There is no telling what kind of monstrosity might leap out of the shadows.
