Cool logo! If it has anything to do with MEN, color me interested!

Love the idea of going exploring and finding new things!

(Now with the mako.....if my driving really sucks.....if only the companions with you would say something about it....like "I'm going to be sick." I always imagined with my wonky driving when I took Wrex along that he would get ill and complain. And Garrus would say something along the lines of "I'm sure it's not your driving Shepard, I'll calibrate the Mako when we get back to the Normandy." Kaiden would say something about him expecting N7s to get better training than this, Ash would just sit and curse, Liara would worry about everybody and keep saying 'By the Goddess!")

I have to agree that it seems highly unlikely that this logo has anything to do with a Convention in Arkansas that's only in it's third year....and appears to be more geared toward getting people together to do large-batch gaming.  (Like the Gauntlent here in town hosting game nights...but on a larger scale).

Plus, the logo on the short is A.R.K.C.O.N., not ARK-CON.

Let's see....

Alliance Reconnaissance and Knowledge ....ah stuck there.....

They've shown krogans on an alien planet, and we know the other races are returning.

It still doesn't dismiss my theory. You start your journey before getting lost, So, That's how all the species return. And then you and your crew embark on discovering this new area of space after getting lost. Discovering something big on your way, And then coming back to Council Space, Telling them how to access this particular area.

Yeah, honestly EP, I could see this happening as well. It's spiraled down my mental rabbit hole on multiple occasions.

Why do i get the feeling the NME is going to be about you getting lost in space? Something like you're working with some exploring organization in the very far future from ME3, And then something goes wrong and you get lost? That's a hell of a way to have someone who's "becoming a hero".

Excellent!!!!

Danger Danger Danger Will Robinson!  Oh if we only had a villain as good as Dr. Smith....

I've noticed the similarity too. But my guess is that this new Halo 4 writer is the one who's going to give it a new and mystical feeling. And i believe that its story content is going to be much different than Lost in Space. Of course this is all just theoretical.

I like the mix of Ark Theory with other stuff. If it was just Ark Theory I'd be so so so so annoying.

Two galaxies, Milky Way and Andromeda/Other. Head out to establish footholds on the new, and develop upon the old. Old species, new species. Exploration and combat. Making a home and leaving it for adventures. Old secrets and new mysteries.

This is what I'd want.

As much as I'd like it to be a new galaxy, It's most likely not going to happen.

Well, as many people have said, they could show us plenty of new areas of the Milky Way. This is the easiest way of keeping the game 'fresh but recognisable'. If they set it in uncharted regions of the Milky Way (don't have a clue when this would beset, exactly) then we can meet new races and new places while still (i hope) seeing some places and characters (and outcomes) from the original trilogy, as well.

Exactly my thoughts. Besides, I don't really have that much trust or faith in the current Mass Effect team to be able to pull off a new galaxy.

New galaxy would be fun and all, but I must say I agree with the sentiment that straight-up abandoning the Milky Way would be...underwhelming as well as disappointing. There is so much that can be explored within the Milky Way galaxy, gods only know how many dormant relays are floating about since the post-Rachni War ban on re-activating them leading to exciting new places! Discovering and re-activating dormant relays, then taking a trip through to see what lies on the other side, mapping it, positively screams "exploration focus".

If 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is actually a deactivated Reaper I am going to be so annoyed.

We have unearthed the heart of evil. Awakened the beast. Unleashed the darkness. The age of humanity is ended. Soon only ruin and corpses will remain. Is it madness to see the future? To see the destruction rushing towards us? To understand there is no escape, no hope? No, I am not mad. I'm the only sane one left.

It's just a matter of how much of the old world we take with us.

Make the multi-race fleet big enough and have a hugh arche ship as hub world and there is plenty of recognizable stuff imho.

Guessing ARKCON? Ooh, this is fun!

Alien Research, Knowledge Collation and Orbital Navigation

Allied Relay Knowledge Collation Officer N(?)

Alliance Relay & Kinetics Calibration Operations N(?)

Allied Races K(?) Colonisation Operations N(?)

Allied Races K(?) Co-operative Organisation for N(?)

Alliance Reconnaissance, Knowledge Collation and Observation N(?)

As you can tell, there's only one I feel happy with there. That said, this is quite familiar to me -- it reminds me of the good old days of the Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society.

So we may have been looking at it the wrong way. Bioware used Konark as inspiration.

Quoting wiki:

"The name Konark derives from the combination of the Sanskrit words, Kona (corner) and Arka (sun), in reference to the temple which was dedicated to the Sun god Surya. The monument was also called the Black Pagoda by European sailors."

- I'm totally on BW's trail now

Here we go again, collectively penning something so awesome we'll self-deprecatingly kick chairs when the game is released and it's not at all what we "wanted." Fans are funny, we truly are. :P

More thoughts, actually. Tad more.

In NME, you're part of an intergalactic initiative to start charting the vast remainder of space. You do so via freshly-constructed Relays thanks to ______ technology.  (It can easily be worked around any of the three major endings, IMO, with some more easy than others.) "ARKCON" is partly a reference to the fact that you're carrying with you, on your ship, members of several prominent races as you blaze a new trail for all to prosper through.

What you find on the other side is terrifyingly expansive.

I like this idea.

Liara would worry about everybody and keep saying 'By the Goddess!")

WAAAAY off topic here, but...

When Garrus says, "If you can get Liara to stop saying, 'By the goddess!'"  I just fell out.  It was the funniest thing I'd heard in a long time.

Anyway, back on track.
