Of course there won't be any humans in another galaxy "by natural evolution".

But our new hero will take as much humans with him/her through the (space)magic Supergate as the plot needs to have.

And who knows if ME4's magic Supergate was the fiirst  magic Supergate humans used? Or ME1's Prothean Scientists?

Ok, so you are saying that in that time (2183 CE - when Mass Effect trilogy started) the people from different races already discovered and colonized another galaxy (well, the galaxy that the NME take place in it), and REAPER-invasion happened there too?

No, the theory is that before or during ME3 the Council put a load of people on an "ark" and sent them into another Galaxy to populate. It's a stupid idea.

It's really not. Bioware have built up an awesome universe, why go and get rid of it all and essentially reboot?

But, to each their own.

Mostly agreed there. It happened but it doesn't matter is more or less the same as saying it didn't happen.

I would be fine with an actual reboot that doesn't pretend not to be a reboot.

But, to each their own.

By going to a different Galaxy, they don't lose anything that wasn't rendered nigh impossible to address by the divergences of the endings and the major choices of ME3

And they can take as much from the old world with them as they need to.

It's not the first time a franchise did this, think about BSG, Voyager, Stargate Atlantis.

Voyager never left behind the Federation. It spent the entire series trying to get back to it. And even Atlantis was always connected to the Milky Way in one way or another. The Ark theory requires not only the galaxy we know and love to be left behind, but also never to be contacted again, so the ending choice doesn't have to be dealt with.

Sion is right. The idea is a reboot pretending not to be. It'd be better to actually reboot.

What it does makes what Shepard's actions to save the galaxy worthless, why bother saving it if its going to be left behind forever.

Well it seems too blurry for me to say they are the same (it looks a bit similar but not sure).

Is it really so hard to understand that the galaxy after ME3 is still there without BW explicitly showing us?

Admit it or not, BW will never be able to show us every possible outcome of ME3 in detail. An open ending like in a good book, inspiring but not forced.

That's exactly how EC was meant to be.

Bioware, you should really turn on the lights when using the computer... It's bad for the eyes, y'know?

They lose the world they've built, though.

Picking a canon ending is a much better idea.

I just hope they don't pull an Invisible War, though.

And that Destroy is chosen. That too.

Leaving the galaxy that people have come to care about forever and ditching most of the lore is no better and is even worse.

EC only gives brief look into the galaxy after the war, a lot can still happen.

I'm torn between agreeing with you but urging everyone not to get carried away... and making a lame pun with your typo. Eh, I... I can't help it.

I'd say what we're still in the middle of the Dead Sea between releases.
