After seeing that for the first time I understand why primitive humans would have looked up at the night sky and saw evidence of their gods.

For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.

I am sorry but you completely misread what I was referring to.

Preeeeeeeetty sure Dbow was referring to the PAX panel devs focusing on DA:I rather than discussing ME:N... Because DA:I should be focused on right now since it's still freshly released and deserves the attention because it's a good game.

About sums it up? If not, PAX tomorrow for me, weeeeeeeeeee!

I'm thinking we'll see Mass Effect at PAX east, with more substantial info at E3.

No doubt, but I'm still excited to hear about DA:I stuff and possibly meet some of the creative minds behind it. Plus I hope to see some nice cosplays too. My N7 armor build got put on the back burner so hopefully others will not have procrastinated like I did :-D

This is the inaugural PAX to be had in the South, I believe, so you should find no shortage of cosplayers.  I attended PAX in Seattle last year and it was a blast.  Was able to sneak into the panels and get some pictures too while on break.  You are going to have a blast, BassStyles.

How is San Antonio not the real south. Any further south and you'd be in Mexico... or is this a cultural thing I'm not getting?

Sometimes I wonder how Supernatural has managed to keep an iron grip on a not-inconsiderable (for The CW) audience for going on 11 seasons.

...then I'm reminded, it's the internet's doing.

The first three seasons were awesome. After that........

I need to check the other ME forums. See if any new theories have popped up. I enjoy the fan theories. I like seeing the fans  imaginations at work. I do. I admit it. I mean, when the theories are new it's fun and interesting. But then after awhile it can get a bit dogmatic. Then it's not so much fun.

Eh, I'll take a stroll about, see what the goings on are.

Attended the panel today, dude those guys are hilarious. Really entertaining listening to some of the facets that went into making DA:I and if they are lending their hand to the ME team I can sleep all the better knowing it.

One of the devs (shame on me for not remembering his name) was wearing a ARKCON shirt and I meant to use the QA session to ask about it but I got the jitters so I didn't, but asked him after the panel. I asked if they revealed what it meant and they said no, and of course I asked if we would know soon and he couldn't say :-P

Wish I would've spoke up and brought it to the attention to all in attendance because he said I was the only one to ask about his shirt. *sigh*

Great bunch though!

An ARKCON shirt?  They can't say? This was DAI team?

What the hell does ARKCON mean? Now I'm curious.

Dude, that's why you've gotta be sneaky with that stuff.

Walk up to him and say something like, "Yah, I hear that's gonna be in the next game..."   And then watch his face.   If he grins, then you're right.

EDIT :  Raps, none of us know.   There used to be an ARKCON thread around here somewhere, where each of us would toss out ideas.  Use the search function.  I'm sure you'll find it.

What he's talking about though are shirts with the letters A.R.K.C.O.N. on it.

I didn't snap any footage of the panel. Just going off memory. Highlight of the panel to me personally was Karin Weekes discussing about an LGBT panel at Prime I believe and a transgender individual asked along the lines of "how can you represent someone like me without others perceiving them as a monster?" My heart sank.

Then she went on to explain how she took the time to discuss that question with the individual outside of the panel to address the needs for proper representation in a game. Mad props to Bioware for going the extra mile.

Also to clarify, no questions about ME:N were asked. It was focused on DA:I. Some questions about modding popped up, some of the proudest moments the devs felt when creating the game, and so forth. Highlight of my day. Oh that and also the sweet N7 shirt I snagged from one of the vendors haha

Oh come on. This discussion was just asking for it.
And I get it. But there are a lot of learnings to be gained from games that have been released. Dragon Age Inquisition as a game, and the people who developed it, have done a lot of things that are interesting to look at and to learn from. Both in what to do and in what not to do. Just because we as developers internally learn from the experiences of our co-workers on other projects, it doesn't mean that we look to make Mass Effect more like Dragon Age or the other way around. There's simply a lot to learn, and we'd be crazy to not look at what did and did not work on other projects.
Mass Effect will be like Mass Effect. As someone who has worked on ME2 and ME3 and most DLC for both, AND a stint on Inquisition, I can tell you that the Mass Effect I'm working on is very much Mass Effect. You can use as many grains of salt as you want, considering I have a vested interest and I have bias, but this is a Mass Effect game. :)

Alright I know I'm being an annoying nitpicky fan now, but what if one did not feel Mass Effect 3 was very "Mass-Effect-y"?

Particularly, I felt the lack of exploration and lack of more story emphasis or atmosphere like ME1 and ME2 was quite jarring.

Not to say it was as jarring as the difference between all three dragon age games.

They already stated big emphasis on exploration. And atmosphere of games fits their storyline perfectly IMO. If anything, I expect the Next Mass Effect to feel more like ME1 with a little touch of ME2 in terms of detail and characterization.

I loved driving around the different planets in ME1. Even if there was not much to do in them, they all had a unique atmosphere and feel. Hopefully they do that in ME4 and expand on it. Man I can't wait.

This amounts to saying there can never be another Mass Effect game because there was only ever one Mass Effect game.

Seeing this in the Mass Effect thread made me think ARK theory CONfirmed. I know that's highly unlikely even if it does pertain to Mass Effect and not actually Dragon Age. So I'm 99% certain that's not what it means but I want to call it anyway just in case :P

For those not in the know, the Ark theory is a fan theory about what the next Mass Effect's narrative premise could be.

Unless that's been debunked by devs already, in which case, don't mind me and carry on :)
