You mean the freedom to do what the developers want us to do in order to end up with 70+ game hours after completing the main quest no matter how we proceed, because... companion quest and main story gating through some arbitrary scoring system like War Assets or Power.

For the last time. We don't want Mass Effect Inquisition. If that's what Bioware has in store they can go back to the drawing board :/

Who is this "we" you speak of?

I personally love DA:I even. There is filler and some story elements are a bit weak, particularly in some of the side quests but overall I really enjoyed the size and love exploring each map. I did feel that my inquisitor(s) weren't always invested in side quests or the main quest at times. I'm sure it's been mentioned a million times but one of the few times in the game I felt any kind of anxiety over a choice was choosing between Alistair and Hawke.

If they use DA:I as an influence on the next, which I'm sure they have, then I'm all for it. I just want more of the hard choices, choices that will REALLY impact me, companions and the story.

With all that said, I'm fully confident in the team and look forward to the game they're creating for us!

We already have a Mass Effect:Inquisiton comic, so I don't see any reason Bioware would make the next game a Mass Effect:Inquisition.

Pathfinder is also a good subtitle for the game.

Interesting point. I'd never considered that.

People were saying "Contact", but "Pathfinder" works just as well to get across the idea of discovery and exploration in a new place.

Who is this "we"? Giving feedback only really works if you're speaking for yourself.

I liked Inquisition's system, more or less. Sure it was an abstract representation of power, but some form of abstraction like that is probably inevitable in big games - and at least it made more sense than War Assets and Galactic Readiness. Of course the ideal is a bunch of quests that are all reactive and respond naturally without the need for numbers or scales, but that sounds hideously expensive.

ME is being developed by a different studio and I'm sure they have substantially different ideas for the next game, regardless. Just because two games come from the same studio doesn't mean at all that they're going to share fundamental design concepts or gameplay features.

If DAI's game world had a flaw, it's that it's too big for the content currently in it. (leaving complaints about controls, bugs, etc aside)  And yeah, expense probably proved to be a factor in that.  But as it is, it's still a huge game.

My biggest concern is the storytelling features.  How clean a slate will we get (my own hope:  spotless) and how much ownership of the protagonist will we have?

Get out of the house. now.

In all seriousness thats what I thought of. If it's taking place after ME3, especially a destroyed state (they will have to pick a canon ending, don't see how they couldn't) it would make sense that you're trying to find habitable planets, or a new homeworld or something. But I could be wrong.

lol! I think it's alright. Especially considering I was talking/thinking abt the possible ARKCON and Next ME stuff.

I think it was just my Xbox One's way of saying...., "My Body is Ready! Bing!"

You're not annoying or nitpicky when you explain the way you feel about the differences. All opinions are valid. The Mass Effect games in the trilogy all served a purpose, and were geared more towards their purpose. Having an exploration focus in ME3 would have been problematic for the tone and the structure. They each told a story, and part of a larger story. They were all still Mass Effect games though, and felt like Mass Effect games to me.

And there's definitely a good few lessons learned from the 3 games, and those learnings are put forward into the next Mass Effect. This won't tell you much anything about the game, its story, its structure, or anything, but it is a Mass Effect game. :)

Wild Speculation ! Bioware Devs were wearing the A.R.K.C.O.N Shirt in the Pax South DA pannel.

Besides that, Some chat between us and Jos. (Barret seems to be focusing more in the Project  Haven't seen him for a couple of days ) and more Speculation about what A.R.K.C.O.N means

PS: Welcome back! :)
