Honestly, I wasn't on BSN during the initial fallout from ME3, so I didn't really experience much of it. Then again, I also stuck to the MP threads- which are generally pleasant- for the most part. Missed the whole locking of the romance forum as well.
Guess I got lucky, huh?
Very. Twas the worst of times. I was on vacation and didn't get a chance to play on release day, but I checked the forums often. Hype levels were through the roof for me, but I slowly watched it deflate for the majority of people, turning shock into confusion, bitter disappointment, and eventually utter raging, trolling, and hating.
There was some constructive feedback, but it was like a few diamonds surrounded by a wall of fire tearing apart everything from the devs and how much they bombed, arguing amongst players about the validity of ''artistic integrity'', some solid ground wars on whether the indoctrination theory was true or not, the pro-ending people bringing out flame shields the size of planets in order to say that ''people just didn't get what Bioware was doing'', a poll of 100 000 people saying they need a new ending....
Ugh, I'd rather not remember anymore. It was an embarrassment that was way overblown out of proportion. A right to criticize and bring feedback is always welcome, but sending death threats and publicly hating on the devs and BSN members as well is just insane. Some of these people acted as if Bioware had done something horrible to their lives akin to killing someone....
Glad we have a much more friendly, constructive, and happier forums now
