I remember seeing a lot of the ME1 memes about Shepard and Wrex back and forth until the Normandy exploded. Good times.
So far, i believe the dev interaction with us -the fans-is way better. but that is just my opinion
I've always felt this way too. I like how they are sparingly giving away details this time, opposed to the production of ME3 where I felt they went overboard. They could just take the silent route like Bethseda or Rockstar, but instead they are interacting with people, letting them know what is on the horizon, which people should be at least grateful for. You might not get the details that you want, but at least you get something.
I get that it's difficult to take at face value, with my name having BioWare right underneath it and all, but what I write on Twitter isn't part of anyone's hype machine. I'm merely sharing what I'm up to, and what's exciting to me. If I dance around what the exciting stuff is, it's because I can't detail it. If there were any official information on the game coming out, it would be through official channels.
I simply much prefer to interact with people in some way than not. ![]()
Thanks for hanging out here Jos, disregard the haters.
BTW, that Shepard, Wrex, Grunt, etc bit in Citadel DLC was perhaps my biggest LOL moment of the trilogy. I actually had tears.
It's a good way to keep communication with people. Thanks Jos!

Ditto. Information release really isn't our bailiwick. But we like interacting with y'all!

Hey, Ann, since you're here I wanna ask, were you the Lead Writer on the Omega DLC, and did you write anything for the main campaign for ME3? I remember seeing your name in the credits.

- While not ME specific, it's worth a read for everyone...
So a fan asked, "Would I be right in thinking that the Next ME will have huge musical scores and a nice big soundtrack?

Haha, Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog shared this article as well. Interpret it however you will lol:
Dear world, if my boss @CCampbellArt decides to murder me tomorrow after I pitch him a new idea, please know that I tried. #space
Don't worry. I can't kill people for design decisions.
I checked.

Neil Druckmann @Neil_DruckmannCandid points re: difficulties of game dev (although excuse given for bad game endings is pretty lame) http://kotaku.com/fi...ti-1687510871 …
Well it was a pretty lame excuse. The ending is just as important as the beginning and middle of a story. But yeah I laughed when I first read it.
I look at stories in totality really. It is all important. Though if I had to vote one out in importance, it may be the beginning. But even the beginning often ought to matter, and be not just 'random'.
I think, for example, that Mass Effect ought to always, even after the trilogy, refer to aspects of the Eden Prime level in both direct and indirect ways, though it should always be appropriate for the narrative and themes and not just shoehorned in.
Both parts of the middle and the whole ending are very important to me.
From what I got from the article, the message was not that "so long as the beginning is good, quality of the ending does not matter". It was "If you are forced to choose between putting detail in either the beginning or the ending, what would you choose?". Ideally such situation should not occur but if it does it makes sense to work on the beginning more.
