I want Synthesis to create a technoabominationNeoShepard and he 'wakes up' from his experience (a virtual trilogy, half of what we saw was utterly unreal) as a super advanced entity that can barely get the trust of those around him due to how alien he is to both organics and synthetics.

That's probably better than what BioWare would come up with if they tried to write a game with Synthesis having any significant presence.

Well, I was browsing Youtube a few moments ago, and I stumbled on this nice mix of ambient music from ME3:

https://www.youtube....h?v=ng76GVZlB3s

What caught my eye most however, was one of the comments below the video. Rob Blake, the audio lead on ME3, did a bit of explaining for the sound design of the game, and he even linked an in-depth interview he did regarding how it was like in the audio department leading to ME3's release. I've never seen it before and it is quite interesting. Definitely worth a read :

http://www.soundonso...mass-effect.htm

He also commented on how the ME3 ending reaction was really draining for the team after all the effort they put into making the game sound as great as possible (95% of the sounds in ME3 were brand new). He says he's no longer with Bioware, but approved of the direction the next game was taking.

The sound and music from ME3 definitely brought the game to a whole other level, for me at least  :)

Just figured I'd share.

I wouldn't put to much faith into is being considered bad news. All three ending choices can be easily written around if they wanted to make a sequel.

People underestimate exactly how easy it'd be for them to cherry-pick canon constants and move into the future.

Some willfully so. They really don't want the ending to be acknowledged.

So a bit of news: I have decided leave Dragon Age and move onto a new, upcoming BioWare project (which I can't discuss).

While it's hard to leave Dragon Age behind, 10 years is a long time to work on any one project. I decided it was time for something new.

I am happy, however, to leave Dragon Age in good hands: @PatrickWeekes will be Lead Writer once I'm gone. I can't think of anyone better.

Can't believe nobody posted this yet. So does this mean save importing isn't going to be a thing or it's just not necessary for you to enjoy and understand the game? And definitely no canon ending means what for ME4 if it's a sequel?

I've been saying it for a while now that they can go forward without even acknowledging the endings if they want to. I wouldn't have a problem with it either.

The next mass effect could easily take into account which ending you chose in ME3. I remember seeing an article a few weeks after ME3's release that talked about Bioware saying not to get rid of your saves, because something special was happening with them in the future. That could be what they were talking about, or maybe they were talking about the upcoming DLC, dunno.

They have done the importer technique before, they can do it again. The level of immersion for this mass effect game, if they decide to use imports from the past three games, would be off the charts. You would have tons of different ways to play the game, tons of different outcomes. So perhaps in the end, our decisions do finally have some sort of impact...

Well, I can guarantee you that they're not talking about any ME3 DLC.   'Cause that stopped a long time ago.

Also, if I remember correctly, (because I didn't click on the link) he stated that it would be a good idea if we held onto the saves.  'Cause they didn't know what they were gonna do in the future.   (I added that last part)

Not the choice I made.

Or the choices of those who simply turn off the game when Priority: Earth starts up.

Honestly, I don't think that it'd be a good idea for BW to make ME4 a sequel to ME3.  Better for them to play it safe rather than risk pissing off a huge portion of the fanbase.

Personally, I don't understand people.  Everyone says that BW cannot canonise an ending or make a sequel to ME3 without pissing off a huge portion of the fanbase.  I don't really see that, but we could assume it's true.

So, let's assume it's true.  Who are these "pissed off" people?  Are they people who liked the ending(s) to ME3 and are frustrated or upset that their choice ending did not get chosen?  Possible, but I'd have to think they are a smaller percentage of the population of "pissed off players".  Are these people who are already upset with the endings and have sworn off BW products and the franchise altogether?  Most likely, but then, why do they matter?  They've already sworn off their "almighty dollar" so why should anyone want their input?  And frankly, I'd rather have an artistic vision that's not beholden to the threat of cutting off funding.

I don't see BW making a canon ending (but it's wholly within their right as the IP holder) because BW loves player choice.  And I think, no matter your feeling on the end to ME3, you have to acknowledge everything BW has said on the matter pertaining to player choice and artistic integrity.  Those two things coupled together make me believe that the end to ME3 will not be touched.

And lastly, no matter what BW decides, if they make a good game; who here is not going to play it?  Sure, BW could do something the vast majority of the community doesn't like or agree with, but if it turns out to be really really good and fun?  Immersive?  Everything you love about the series in a new experience... who here is going to pass on that?  I definitely will not.

Personally, I don't care.   Make synthesis be the option, have everybody with green glowing circuit like skin.  Have destroy be the option and have no AI left in the universe whatsoever, but also have no help in rebuilding the mass relays/Citadel.  Have control be the option and have Shepard return, except this time....  He's pissed.  At all organics.

Just give the my next installment of ME.

I agree with the above 2 posts. We can speculate all we want, make all the wish lists we want but BW will do what they want and I for one will play it and probably love it. I don't always agree with the direction the games have moved in but I'm not so entitled as to throw my toys out the pram and swear to never give BW another penny of my money if I don't get everything I want. Even a mediocre BW game is still a great game that I can't wait to play and the only mediocre game I can think of is DA2. Still loved it.

As long as the game is fun to play, I don't care what they do with regard to the ending of ME3. Make a canon, reboot, say it was all a dream, whatever. I don't think ME:N's success hinges on this one thing.
