@The1Wynn is it to early to know if the PC version of the next Mass Effect will have controller support?

Good. Because my friend who visits to play the trilogy (literally around the 50% mark of it) hates using my keyboard and mouse for it. She and I crave a controller function. Of course I won't use it for MP and sitting at the desk, but still.

I'll hope that this doesn't mean sub-par PC keyboard+mouse controls though. Glaring at DAI.

Well, if they learned anything they'll know that they should let us just have the full binding suite. I'm used to rebinding keys anyways like a lot of people are I'd wager, so even if I don't like initial bindings if I can switch them I'll be happy as a pig in a blanket and not the pastry kind.

This was one of my big issues with ME3 MP.  Even back on ME1 I could re-assign powers to keys or number buttons - but yet in MP it did not work.

You can assign your powers to any key you want in ME3.

Not in ME3 MP.  In the main game (SP), you can.

Works in MP too. I mapped all powers to mouse buttons.

In a way you're both right. You cannot change the slot in which the powers go in MP, so each power and item will always be in the same space, meanwhile in SP you can change all of them at will. However the key binds (I hope this mean what I think it means) work for both SP and MP. So even if a certain power will always be in the '1' slot in MP, you can bind any key to it, like mouse buttons.

Although I do have to add that the multiplayer component of ME3 in the PC needed much, much more work. The simple fact you cannot wirte a message in game says it all.

It would have been nice to be able to reassign the buttons even on the xbox. I hated that Charge was the Y button and not the right bumper. I had to take my thumb off the camera stick to charge, meaning I might accidentally charge the wrong target because of the fraction of a second delay as my thumb moved to hit the button.

You don't want the ability to write to your fellow "N7's" on PC? Why not? It was something I missed sorely.

Sorry, just a little recap: what was the last ME patch? Just April fools prank or what?

Thank you!

Just bug patching, nothing more than that.

Has it been inspected? I think it is suspicious to have a bug patch at this time if no big bug has been identified... I suspect something to prepare the game save files for ME:N

Apparently that was part of MEHEM, not the patch.

I still think that the patch has to be ME:N related, somehow. It's just too bizarre for them to release a new one after all this time. My guess is that it could be related to a save import into a Mass Effect Keep-like site.

I don't think it is related to importing. My own suspicion is that they wanted to extract some information on gameplay to get a better feel for some decisions about the next game.

But I do believe it has something to do with the next game's development.

Game data ("telemetry") is already sent automatically by every single copy of the game that is connected to the internet, they don't need to go and extract it. They have years of data for all three games on every console.

Supposedly the patch is crashing the game on PS3 though, so they might need to put out a hotfix for it soon.

True, but they may have wanted to check on some variables they had not checked on before.

I think it's unlikely that this has become an issue after three years.

Maybe the patch that they said is a multiplayer maintenance patch really is a maintenance patch. People like conspiracy theories too much,
