I don't know why people are so excited about this sort of thing. It's not going to be the holodeck. And playing a video game standing up and flapping your arms about gets tiring rather fast.

Best case scenario I can envision is a sort of helmet you wear that gives you a 360 cinematic vision, but still played sitting down with a regular controller. Which might be very cool if they can achieve high quality (albeit stupid looking and perhaps uncomfortably Matrix-esque for the person playing it), but it's not like you can't get yourself a very cinematic experience now with a high quality and properly set up television and speakers. Granted, that takes a few thousand dollars.

Don't you know it would become one of the first steps of full fledged VR. Whether you like it or not, people are going to be excited for it.

As long as they rein in the 80's nostalgia... :P

How dare you.

I stood up and flailed for 35-40 hours when I played Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. It was awesome, no matter what the internet would otherwise have had me believe.

I've wanted a 'live-movement game' since I first saw an Atari as a kid.

Never got into video games as a kid since I thought "well this is stupid, just sitting around on the couch not doing anything"

Then I saw Zelda and thought "wouldn't that be fun if you actually had to swing a sword instead of hit buttons?" Still never played it.

Probably a reason why I didn't really start playing until I was introduced to RPG video games in 2006.

My childhood is not nostalgia material.  I should be way too young for that  :P

Except for old fogies like me.  I mean, I work at a light industrial job and when I come home it's veg time.   It's "sit your ass down in front of the computer and play a game".  Not, "Let's all jump around like we're crack addled monkeys."

"Crack addled monkeys" is a pretty apt description of a lot of the motions Kinect/Wii games force folks to partake in.

This kind of stuff might not be best at home, but in a big arcade or even used in theme parks.

Went ahead and made this in advance in case people are curious if they'll be off work in time or want to take the day off

E3 Day has been a really fun one for me since starting college two years ago. I wake up early, go for my morning walk, make a bigger-than-usual breakfast, and then prepare to be giddily plastered to a chair at the computer lab for the first few conferences. I am really hyper afterward, so I skip the Ubisoft conference (honestly there's just never anything there for me) and go for another walk or invite a friend over to hear me rant and rave. Then I return to the computer lab and dutifully watch Sony's evening showing.

This year Bethesda and Square Enix have their own conferences as well, so it's going to be so much to take in. Plus the real meat of E3 is in the following days, as developers showcase their suites more thoroughly with the press. Hype.

In (very mild, we're talking like, green bell pepper) seriousness, I have indeed noticed far less attempts at dissuading fans from referring to it as such in recent months.

Which almost certainly means absolutely nothing, but I don't suppose it is out of the realm of possibility that the company decided with all the evolutions, modifications, and outright new elements of the game, it may actually prove ideal to remind people it's still part of the main series by sticking to a numerical designation. Numbered sequels are far less in-vogue today than they were, say, ten years ago, I think, but that could prove advantageous in its own right... from a certain marketing point of view.

Again, mild. Green bell pepper.

I take green bell peppers very seriously, and so should you. They are a healthy and great addition to one's diet. Seriously.

(It's not actually "ME4", but that looked best for my tweet/quote. Social media is complicated.)

I suspect the reduced dissuasion is a combination of us being pretty dang busy working on the thing, but also perhaps growing acknowledgement that since we haven't really provided a proper replacement yet, it's kind of silly to keep telling y'all to stop. Also it's fun trolling Mike.

Also green peppers are my favourite peppers.

And today...

Apparently all green peppers around the galaxy were modified by The Thorian long ago.

Able to replicate through them, after it's encounter with Saren and Shepard it stayed low for it's own good, but with the threat of the Anti-Matter Blackhole it takes physical form and all who ate the green pepper now under it's control.

It will do anything to ensure it's own survival, all who eaten the peppers are now modified, killing The Thorian will also kill thousands that are under it's control.

What our hero will do?,become The Thorian's thrall?,ally with it?,or is it beyond reason and our hero will be required to kill it,and with it all of it's thralls.

Stay tuned!
