Is that...a butt? I keep turning the picture around to figure out how this armor should look.

So we are just going to be Shepard 2.0

Yayyyyyyyy... I don't feel hyped at all. Something must be wrong with me.... this feels weird
No, there's nothing wrong with you. There's just nothing to be hyped about yet with this game.
In that we're going to have arms, yes.
No, in the fact we are a human who is an N7 operative.

Protagonist has arms, confirmed! Read allaboutit!

That could be subject to change at this early in development

And if it does, I'll change my view accordingly. But as of right now, everything we have been shown has us as being stuck as human.
No, in the fact we are a human who is an N7 operative.
If this is news to you now, then you haven't been following the news.

Before it was "we have something to do with N7". We never had it confirmed we were an N7 operative until this image.

I didn't see anything confirming that this image is of our character.

What if being N7 is just one out of several possible origin stories? We don't know anything about it. And even if we are definitely going to be N7, it's not like it means we'll be "Shepard 2.0". There's so much more that defines a character.
It's quite honestly a bit silly to go all doom-and-gloom on so little, I think. Chill out, keep an open mind, see what happens when we get some actual information ![]()
I, for one, am excited to see the teaser-partial-arm and the mysterious mousepad. Anyone got an idea whether that's a black hole or a wormhole? I'm not smart with #space ![]()

Whichever one it is, Scylla likes it a lot; it's his background on Twitter.

Yes, it does. The only difference between Shepard and this new character if the new one is N7 is personality, and that's always been a variable. And like Shepard, I expect we will have Paragon and Renegade as the two options. So we will essentially just be another Shepard.
Whenever I keep an open mind, it always ends badly. I've adopted an "Always assume the worst, that way you are never disappointed." philosophy with Bioware games now.

I think it's pretty safe to say we're N7

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to feel like a different person. We're shaped by the experiences and hardships we endure. For instance, Shepard facing off with Saren and learning the truth about the Reapers and being ignored for years. Or receiving the Cipher, or being blown up and reassembled. Being offered to trick the Krogan and either accepting or rejecting that choice.
Chances are, we won't be going through any of those things as the next protagonist. So even if we're N7 and human, there's lots of room to be a lot more than that ![]()

That's understandable. I don't know what caused you to feel like this, but if it were the ME3 endings, then I got a little burnt too. But the thing is, you're kinda raining on the parade prematurely, I think. This thread is great for just getting excited (for those of us who are less cautious). If we get confirmation that we'll play only as a human N7, then by all means, make a thread to discuss it. There are valid concerns to be had. This just doesn't seem the place for it. I mean, a post or two, sure, but continuously expressing discontent puts a bummer on the mood, at least for me. I'd love for the Twitter thread to continue being a place where we discuss tweets and possible news and generally share our excitement
at least that's how I see it. I know that's not the technical definition of this thread for everyone.
It's a rendering of a black hole.
Alright, thanks!
can't help but wonder how much significance it has. Combined with 'sharing what's ahead', it seems very much like it's connected to something about the next Mass Effect.
What I like about all of this is that BioWare is 20 today (youngins) *cough*, yet they still have time to share. No only are they sharing 20 years pride (or however long they have been with BioWare), but they are sharing work on the next game.
Its almost like Shepard is there saying, "This isn't a casino! Get back to work!"
I like that - BioWare is not resting on it's laurels. Thank you for the smiles and tweets.

Also, this logo can get a whole new meaning in ME:Next. They can write the evolution of N7 program in every possible way. It can be discontinued and outlawed for all we know.
The geometry on those models is the stuff of nightmares.
