It's a photo of an illustrated eye posted by ThinkGeek. How much "hype" can there be?
All of it. ALL OF THE HYPE.
Also is it just me and a sudden onset of spontaneous color blindness or is the eye tinted a bit slightly...the opposite color of red? You know the one. The one whose invocation causes the forums to go nuclear (you might say that in such case there is a sudden fallout).
(E3's interminably slow approach is doing things to my mind)
You will be missed Dusty Everman. He did well writing Steve Cortez's character. Wish him well on what he does next
This.
Cortez was a great character, and with all due respect to Joker, my favorite pilot aboard the Normandy. I love the scene where you meet Cortez on the Citadel, and he's just watching the ships go by with the sound emulators turned off. The Citadel DLC meet up where he takes the shuttle on a joy ride was great too, as was all of the banter between Vega & Cortez in the shuttle bay / armory.
Vega was right about the Mako though. #TeamMako
To be more precise: Right eyes confirmed. Nothing has been said or indicated about left ones.
Wow, the leaks are coming thick and fast now, aren't they? In the last couple of weeks, they've let slip that left arms and doors are going to feature in the game. I worried they've got nothing left to reveal at E3.
Oh hey:
(Apparently Chris Wynn replies to random tweets that contain "Mass Effect"? That's cool.)
They need to announce another mass effect asap
@user we already have, the next Mass Effect is currently under development.
@The1Wynn prequel or sequel?
@user not a prequel, not necessarily a sequel either.
Chris Wynn @The1Wynn@user not a prequel, not necessarily a sequel either.
Andromeda is looking more and more likely
just a couple of weeks now...

Please no.
As much as I'd love to see a Council space sequel, I'm down for an Andromeda diversion. I just don't want the series to be perma-locked there. But for ME: Next? Sure, why not. Could be fun.
Please no.
Not a prequel, not necessarily a sidequel... Other options include reboot, spin off, sidequel. I'd take Andromeda over those.

There is also alternate universe. I'd prefer Andromeda over that as well.

If Not a sequel, The other options would be reboot/AU. I doubt those will happen. Please no.

The Andromeda is a reboot(since it is retconning tons of lore), a spin off(since it will only be Mass Effect in name) and a sidequel(since it won't have anything to do with the other games/books/etc). So it is all three of those things.
I feel like taking a potshot about ME3 and its endings, but that is getting old - even for me.
I hope we are not going to Andromeda. Moving the Mass Effect franchise for a Galaxy with no Mass Effect Relays sounds like weak writing to me. The same goes with us being Galactic Invaders bending their will / Galaxy to our own ideals. We would be acting like Cerberus or the Protheans - I detest those ideas. You can't be the good guy if you are kicking in their doors and shouting orders.
Lets hope that the writing staff "sharpens their pencils" and come up with something worthy.

Not necessarily. This is not a place for this discussion though (which was going on for quite some time and all kinds of arguments were made showing that retcon/sidequel/spin-off/AU are not the only outcomes of having the game set in another galaxy). If you really want to discuss it further make a different thread, use one of the existing ones or just PM me ![]()

I'm a direct sequel fan but the thought of being a bad guy / conqueror / tyrant would be of interest to me.
They're not going to go that route though.

The game could start out with us already on our way to the new galaxy to "hide" the results of our choices in the previous games, similar to how ME1 started with us already on a mission to hide the back story.
Guys, he said not necessarily a sequel. That means some sort of sequel isn't ruled out. How can we infer it takes place in an AU, another Galaxy or w/e from that? E3 is 11 days away, let's just wait it out

That sounds like less fun. I like the rampant speculation, it takes my mind off the pile of broken iPads sitting on my desk.
It's Not a reboot. Retcons (which we still don't know it'll happen) don't mean the game will be a reboot. I'll take bets to make the wait more interesting.
It'd be a sidequel.
Same thing in spirit.
More so if it's absurdly far removed in time and/or space.

I know. I've been a participant.

It's Not a spinoff either.'It's a ME game only in name' is an opinion (for example, I think it'd still be a ME game, regardless of my opinion ok this decision),unLess Bioware says otherwise.
It'd be a sidequel, which First the tweet.
It is rebooting the established laws of the Mass Effect universe. There is no way with Mass Effect technology that we can reach Andromeda. The only ones capable are the Reapers, and even to the scientists in Mass Effect they seemingly break the laws of physics. But this isn't the thread for this discussion.

Sorry, I meant 'fits'. I'm on the phone and I forgot to check.I know. I've been a participant.

It's a sidequel (something happening perpendicular and primary) which is different from a spinoff (something happening parallel and not primary).
