Guys, he said not necessarily a sequel. That means some sort of sequel isn't ruled out. How can we infer it takes place in an AU, another Galaxy or w/e from that? E3 is 11 days away, let's just wait it out

I think the fact that Bioware has avoided using the word sequel to refer to the next game, or uses phrases like 'not necessarily a sequel,' indicates that it isn't a direct sequel to ME3 set in Council space. Awhile back a former Bioware employee also complained about fans referring to the next game as ME4. If the next game were a direct sequel there wouldn't be that much secrecy or a careful avoidance of not saying "yes, it is a sequel.'

What exactly that means is still to be determined, but I think its clear either the game is set elsewhere, not after the events of ME3, or both.

Even if it were a sequel they wouldn't confirm it via a tweet.

Neither would they in all likelihood use a phrase saying "not necessarily a sequel" if it actually were. It just fits too well with the details from the leaked survey - entirely removed from the Milky Way setting to make any 'sequel or prequel' distinction irrelevant (and maybe even impossible).

Andromeda is looking more and more likely :) just a couple of weeks now...

That tweet really gave no indication of such, it could mean a number of things.

Easy choice; my heart has a red/white N7 stripe across it. (Doctors say it's kinda serious :()

Edit: oh, they don't mean just between DA and ME, but which specific item? In that case, I would gladly have the Normandy hovering somewhere in my apartment :)

It could, yes. But it just happens to fit perfectly with the leaked survey, I think :)

The Nug and Mabari?

As an aside I think I would pick Grunts face. The Reaper and Dragon would be pretty cool as well.

Which is based on a fan theory that can easily be found on the internet, remember how clevernoob's "leak" which said that Bioware was working on a IT DLC it turned out to be false. So be very careful about leaks since they mostly have outdated idea's that are most likely scrapped by now.

In response to all that swag, I have the POP! Figures as well as the Mass Effect Risk (which would've been my first choices of pick haha) Plus my girlfriend got me the Spectre watch last Christmas, it's a beaut.

That Inquisitor helm is sweet, but if the N7 Edition watch is up there, I'd take that :-D

I'm not sure if this rumor has gone around yet, but it's a slow day, so... ;)

Considering the recently announced Fallout 4 is aiming for a 2015 release, and started development around the same time as ME Next (I think), this rumor that ME Next may come in early 2016 just became much more plausible  :D

I personally hate this rumor.   I need my ME:N now!   But I'm willing to wait.

Hmmm the article mentions the Helios (Helius?) cluster, as opposed to the Andromeda galaxy... SwobyJ made a post today about the Helios cluster, wonder if they made it in regards to hearing about this rumor... Unless Helios is IN Andromeda, in which case flog me with a stick and don't stop until I tell you.

Both will delay to mid-to-late 2016 and you know it lol  :P

That is exactly what the original leak/rumor said

P.S. Sorry, I don't know how to post tweets like you guys do.

Nice find!

here's the twitter pic

TBH, this looks like our Protagonist unmasked. See the thing in his ear? It can be that helmet they always show in those Concept Arts, but retracted.

 Retractable Helmets for ME: Next?

Not sure which article you are referring to but the leak referred to the Helius cluster being in the Andromeda galaxy.

I wasn't aware of them before but from what I can tell Think Geek Solutions is apparently an online store that sells things like t-shirts, hats, toys based off science fiction. I think people gave the wrong impression and this has nothing to do with next mass effect but rather is something coming to the store based off mass effect. Besides, that looks very much like Kaidan to me.

I guess "reporters" no longer bother themselves with providing sources for their "work". There's not one link in that "article". TBH, I can't speculate anymore; I'm exhausted. With E3 around the corner, I'll hopefully know one way or the other whether I have to wait months or years for NME (please be months... as in less than 12 at least).
