I mean, I think they practically have to show something substantial at this point, but that's what people said about E3 2014, E3 2013, Gamescom, VGX, VGAs, PAX Prime, PAX East, PAX South, PAX Australia, GDC, SDCC...

Nope this was sent by my friend via his xbox 360. I have no idea how he took the screenshot though. There is no way for me to "intentionally" wash the picture out I gamed on his 360 Batman Arkham City... looked horrible anyway the Salarian is right this is not a console war / platform thread

 

P.S. The bottom PC picture you sent me is not "MAXED OUT" there is no "TRESS FX"

What are you talking about? Playstation has always had free online access. And aren't they comparing PS1 and PC? That's like the 90s. Tomb Raider didn't even have online play on any platform. It didn't even use Windows... that was on DOS.

No prob. I just had to get it off my chest. I don't care about console wars. It's just that someone mentioned Tomb Raider 1, and he's talking about subscriptions... 

As a matter of fact it is quite interesting to be honest... I have no idea why console players needs to "pay to play online" sounds like a rip off to me. They bought the console, they bought the game yet the devs and manufacturers still charges them to go online.

Console gaming just seems really expensive to me. Oh well.

What's the likelihood of any meaningful information at E3?
I am also conscious of previous marketing (for example that willfully misleading interactive story trailer) to take everything with a massive pinch of salt. Are we likely to see a heavily optimised and running on a high end pc vertical slice of what could be in the game before the inevitable feature removal and gfx downgrade?

That's Xbox Live, not Playstation.

 

I guess I'll say it's a better than PS to me though... You get what you pay for. I have more downtime issues on the Playstation.. and hackers seem to break through easier. There have been at least two major incidents. One awhile back that made quit using the PS for awhile, because the hackers stole a bunch of credit card numbers.

 

You also get a lot of free games with an Xbox Live subscription. Good ones too..

So you can go online for free with a Playstation? yeah we got free games on Steam too Valve and Origin gives too... also today is steam sales all drops to 75 to 80% off

The whole free games with subscription thing is really nice until you don't feel like paying that subscription anymore, and then you can't play any of the games you got with it, also it's not great being at the whim of whoever is curating that stuff - going months without a single free game you want to play isn't a great experience. I'll take discounts and sales any day over that experience.

Bottom line is, a PC is better for gaming without a doubt. Better graphics, better performance, mods, M+KB, cheaper games, more games, no subscriptions, most games have controller support and you can easily play on a TV. More expensive initially, but worth the benefits and cheaper in the long run if you're a serious gamer.
