It reminds me of when Pixar lost most of Toy Story 2 to errant code and they realized too late that their backups were corrupted too. They were lucky enough that a remote employee had a non-corrupt backup at home.

Also, natural disasters can play their part; when the Hurricane Sandy struck New York in 2012, the original DAT tapes for the radio stations in most of the GTA series were almost lost in the flooding.

Flying to LA for some E3 "work" - It's work but not really because it's fun... and it's E3.

 

I expect one of the scenarios when I come back to the thread:

 

1.  The Twitter Thread will have burned down to the ground as the crispy corpses of Hrungr, Iakus, JeffZero, BioFan, ElitePinecone and many others lay covering the scorched earth because the Next Mass Effect was NOT shown at E3.

 

OR

 

2.  The Twitter Thread will have burned down to the ground as the crispy corpses of Hrungr, Iakus, JeffZero, BioFan, ElitePinecone and many others lay covering the scorched earth because the Next Mass Effect was FINALLY shown at E3.

 

 

Either way, Have a good E3 viewing all!  Hopefully I'll get to see some BioPeeps there as well !

eagles are such assholes in far cry 4. I wonder if there's a deeper meaning there.

Prometheus' punishment for bringing fire to the humans was to be stuck on a mountain getting torn to bits by eagles.  Ajay is bringing the ashes of his mother - the result of fire and sacrifice - back to Kyrat, as well as the light of freedom - his progress through the game is reflected on the map by making parts of the world visible - so he (and the player) is doomed to be climbing mountains getting torn to bits by eagles too.

 

What I guess I'm saying is that we Mass Effect fans are all Prometheus - wanting the light of the new Mass Effect to bless humanity or at least highly-strung internet debate on what constitutes an RPG - and Bioware are acting like a bunch of eagles.  Stop acting like eagles, eh? Just take it easy.

He'll miss being a part of the thing, sitting on the forums and seeing everyone's anxious anticipation for the conference, then the trailer or whatever (hopefully), then flail his arms excitedly (hopefully) with the rest of us

 

I know this because I miss out on it every Thursday evening when a new episode of Critical Role (fantastic RPG show) is playing out while I'm asleep still enjoy watching it during the weekend, but it's not the same as "being there", so to speak.

Now, I've checked the plane timetables, and I can't find a flight that gets from Canada to LA within a minute. I haven't checked trains.  This leads me to believe that Michael Gamble might be in LA.
